King Khan, the ultimate megastar of the industry, Shah Rukh Khan has turned 57 today (November 2). The successful actor has been ruling over the audience’s hearts for decades now. However, it wasn’t all glitz and glamour when he first stepped in. The megastar has worked his way up in the industry and created a big name for himself. On his 57th birthday, here's a look at his journey on the small screen before he actually made the big shift to Bollywood:

Fauji (1989)

Shah Rukh Khan started his career in the entertainment industry through the TV show, Fauji. He played the role of Lieutenant Abhimanyu Rai in the Indian Army-based show. The character Vikram Rai was supposed to be the hero of the show. However, the camera captured Shah Rukh Khan's charm, and the script was altered to bring SRK's character in the limelight.

Circus (1989-1990)

This was also one popular TV show of the time from which King Khan gained a lot of popularity. This show was set in a circus troupe and had Shah Rukh Khan play the role of Shekharan Rai. Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, Makarand Deshpande, and Pavan Malhotra were also a part of the show. Actress Renuka Shahane was paired opposite SRK in Circus.(Photo: Instagram)

Dil Dariya (1988-1989)

Doosra Keval (1989-1990)

In this show, Shah Rukh Khan played the role of a country boy, who goes to the city and never returns. His story is translated to the viewers through his mother, daughter, and the villagers. Quiz based TV show Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? was an adaptation of the American show, Are you smarter than a 5th grader?
