Gold coins, silver chains: TV actors share their Dhanteras shopping list

It’s our ritual to buy something in either gold or silver every year on this day. Whether I’m in Vadodara or Mumbai, I perform the puja. This year is going to be special with Akshay (Mhatre). We will do the puja together and celebrate Dhanteras. After that, we will shop for something in gold or silver.


I believe that investing in gold on Dhanteras is more of a long-term investment.You know, gold is often seen as a symbol of prosperity and a sound investment option, making it a popular choice during this festival. Gold coins are my favourite form of investment because they are easy to buy, store, and sell. I visit a reputable jewellery store or a trusted source to purchase gold coins, as this helps ensure the quality and authenticity of the gold I am buying on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras. Since my childhood, I have witnessed my family buying gold on Dhanteras.


I love both gold and silver. My love for gold comes from my mother. On Dhanteras, she always purchases gold in one form or another. I go and buy gold as a ritual. I am in Kashmir for my show's shoot, but I will buy a few coins there, as it is said to bring luck and more money as well. Festive buying always gives a good feeling, and I enjoy shopping too.


I find it the best time to invest in jewellery. I will be buying gold biscuits and a silver chain. Both are suitable for the occasion and have high resale value. In my childhood, I used to go with my parents to buy gold on Dhanteras. The rituals and customs of Indian festivals are unique and wonderful. The vibes of Dhanteras and Diwali really makes me happy.
