Geetanjali Singh: Struggle has been my best teacher

Actress Geetanjali Singh, who has featured on TV shows like ‘Tumhari Pakhi’ and ‘Million Dollar Girl’, recently made her debut in

Bollywood

with ‘Falsafa’. Not many know that before she became popular as an actress, she worked an air hostess and had to leave her profession and struggle for a few years.
Talking about her journey, she says, "Acting was never a career choice nor was it a childhood dream. All I know is that I loved art forms like dance, sketching, skits more than academics. The thought of becoming an actor never occurred to me. It just happened to me after I become an air hostess. Along with a few colleagues, I went for an audition. To my surprise, I was selected for commercials and shows and that’s how my journey in showbiz started. I always respected my job and the money I was making was also a driving factor. However, it took me a while to realise that acting was my true calling and flying had become monotonous. The actress within me overpowered my air hostess profession.”

Talking about her struggle and how it has shaped her as a person, Geetanjali says, “I was aware that an actor’s life is unpredictable. So, I saved money and cut down on unnecessary expenses. People often say struggle plays a huge role in anyone's career. I always believed we can never glorify struggle as struggle is your best teacher."
