Maharashtra is renowned for its vibrant celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. Gantavya Sharma, who is currently seen portraying the role of Ashu in Imlie, feels fortunate to be in Mumbai during this festive season. While he has been in the city for an extended period, this marks the child artiste’s first experience of celebrating Ganesh Utsav in Mumbai. He shares with us, “I am from Jalandhar, and we used to celebrate the Ganesh festival there as well. Par Mumbai mein Ganesh Utsav ka maza hi alag hai. For the first time, I am celebrating this festival here in Mumbai.”

He further added, “My parents and I are putting in every effort to fully enjoy it. We are visiting different pandals every day. Hum mere friends ke ghar par bhi Ganpati ke darshan ke liye gaye. I have also whispered my prayers into the ear of the rat as well so that it will remind Ganesh of that wish.”

In a recent interview with us, Gantavya told us that he is a big foodie, and prefers home-cooked meals when shooting. These days he indulges in eating modaks because he has a sweet tooth. He says, “I love all kinds of modaks, but Maharashtrian-style ukadiche modaks are my favourite. For the first time when I got it as a prasad, I thought it was a sweet dumpling. Hum jahaan bhi darshan ke liye jaate hain, I make sure to have ukadiche modaks.”

As the festival concludes today, the child artiste has decided to bring Bappa home next year. “I find him adorable. He seems like a friend to me. I have convinced my parents ki ab hum next year apne ghar par bhi cute se Bappa lekar aayenge,” says Gantavya, who has also been featured in shows like Dheere Dheere Se, and Maitree.
