From Shweta Tiwari to Charu Asopa: TV celebs who had failed second marriages

Marriage, love and relationships are very tricky. From failed engagements to marriages, celebs have confidently walked out of the bonds that haven’t given them the desired happiness. It has also not been an easy route for many. Hurling allegations to fighting cases, a look at celebs, who thought they found a happy second take but their marriages fell apart.

Not many know, but Charu Asopa was married briefly to a businessman much before her roka with Neeraj Malviya. The news of first marriage was revealed when Charu was going through a rough patch in her marriage with Rajeev Sen. In an interaction with BT, Rajeev had accused of not being informed about her first marriage, however, Charu had claimed that she hid nothing. While Charu and Rajeev went through several ups and downs in their marriage and kept giving each other chances, they are no longer together and living separately. In fact, Charu recently shifted to a bigger place with her daughter Ziana.

Shweta’s rocky first marriage with Raja Chaudhary is not unknown. The couple tied the knot in 1998, had their first kid Palak in 2000 and their marriage ended in 2007. Her second marriage with Abhinav Kohli (2013), also hit rock bottom as she had filed a domestic violence case against him. The duo parted ways in 2019. Shweta has a son – Reyansh with Abhinav. She is single mother to her two kids.

Mother to two daughters, Chahatt Khanna has been raising them single-handedly. She was first married to businessman beau, Bharat Narsinghani, in 2006 but she came out of it after he turned physically abusive. In 2013, she tied the knot with Farhan Mirza and the couple has two daughters. Chahatt filed a divorce from him in 2018 and accused him of sexual and mental harassment.

News of trouble in Karan Veer Mehra’s second marriage recently came out and BT was the first to report. The actor was previously married to his school crush Devika Mehra, but they parted ways in 2009. Karanveer had extensively spoken about getting his life back on track after the divorce, battling alcoholism, how showbiz got into his head, which affected his marriage and a lot more. He married Nidhi V Seth in 2021 but reports suggest that they have been living separately as compatibility issues cropped up.

Jyoti fame Sneha Wagh was married to Avishkar Darwhekar in 2007. She was 19 when she got married and later divorced due to reasons unknown. She married Anurag Solanki in 2015 but that didn’t work out for her. Within a year, the couple called it quits.

News of Deepshikha Nagpal’s troubled marriages have been all over when it was out. Known for doing shows like Shaktimaan, Son Pari and several Bollywood films, Deepshikha was first married to Jeet Upendra in 1997. She has two kids with him – a son and a daughter. After a decade of being together, the couple called it quits. She then married Keshav Arora. He was her co-actor in her directorial debut Yeh Dooriyan. The couple tied the knot in 2012 and got divorced in 2016.

Priya Bathija, who has done shows like Kasamh Se, Daayan and Suryaputra Karn, was first married to actor Jatin Shah in 2009. The couple parted ways in two years and then she tied the knot with DJ Kanwaljeet Saluja in an arranged marriage in May 2017 and in 2019 they parted ways. The actress is currently seen in Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal. About her two failed marriages, she recently told BT, “It’s not the end of the world.”
