From Elvish Yadav calling Pooja Bhatt 'Taiji' to Tejasswi Prakash calling Shamita Shetty 'aunty'; Times when contestants were age-shamed in Bigg Boss

All the seasons of Bigg Boss have been extremely controversial and had many reactions over the remarks made by the contestants for each other inside the house. In the recent seasons of the show, there have been many instances of age-shaming inside the house. Take a look at the contestants who got age-shamed and were slammed inside the Bigg Boss house over the seasons:

Abhishek Malhan had been repeatedly age-shaming Avinash Sachdev in the Ticket to Finale task. Malhan said, “You are 37-year-old and yet so dumb. You have a child-like mind and were always labelled as the audience in the house. You have understood the game now and it’s too late for you. Avinash, you started to play it dirty and I just copied you.” Avinash lost his cool and reacted, “How does it matter if I’m 37 or not. All of us are going to age and so are you so why highlight it. I’ve noticed this every time that you have a problem only with my game.”

When Elvish entered the Bigg Boss OTT 2 house as a wildcard contestant the first remark he made was on Pooja Bhatt he age-shamed her and called her his Taiji.

During the grocery shopping task in Bigg Boss 16, Archana Gautam and MC Stan got into a fight, and Stan ended up calling Archana 'Aunty'. 'Basti ki aunty,' shemdi 'and so on. He remarked in reaction to her anecdote. Netizens criticized Mc Stan for his use of foul language.

During BB OTT, Akshara Singh also age-shamed Shamita quite a few times during their stay. The Bhojpuri actress was seen saying, “Shamita toh mere mummy ki umar ki hai.” She received flak on social media for the same.

During the final task, Tejasswi Prakash had made an age-shaming remark and called Shamita Shetty 'Aunty', the latter lost her cool and blasted Tejasswi for her remarks. They ended up in a major fight.

In Bigg Boss 15, Simba Nagpal made a remark on Jay Bhanushali’s age by saying that his vibes don’t match with people with whom he has a generation gap. He clearly called out Jay and age-shamed him in front of everyone. Jay then confronted Simba and asked him about his age and reminded him of the decade gap between their age.

Eijaz Khan was age-shamed by Rahul Vaidya during one of the tasks in Bigg Boss 14. This happened when Eijaz was running and Rahul said, ‘Bhaago mat, umar ke liye achcha nahi hai (don't run, it's not good for your age)’. While Eijaz didn’t take much offence and acted sportingly, fans were quick to defend him on social media.

During Bigg Boss 14, Aly Goni ended up in a war of words with Rakhi Sawant after she passed unacceptable comments about him and Jasmin Bhasin. Aly lost his cool and he told her to not get into his personal matters. However, when Rakhi didn’t stop making remarks, Aly called her ‘gadhi’, ‘pagal aurat’ and said “ tu kar kar Gadhi tu yehi kar, 50 saal ki beta tu yehi kar.”

The late Sidharth Shukla, who lifted the coveted trophy of Bigg Boss 13 was also at the receiving end of an ageist remark. Sidharth was age-shamed by Mahira Sharma, after a massive fight. She called him ‘Buddha’ and also stated that Sidharth was 4 years elder than her mother.
