From Charu Asopa-Rajeev Sen to Nisha Rawal-Karan Mehra: Times when these celebrity marriages went kaput

The TV industry has seen its fair share of ugly fights, accompanied by some chaotic divorces or splits involving a few TV couples. While their weddings received a lot of media and public attention, their contentious divorcesm, separations also gathered equal interest. Amongst all this, a few celebrity weddings had a messy end after the couples chose to come out in public about their differences. Here’s looking at some of these couples whose marriages ended on a sour note.

Charu and Rajeev have had differences since the time they got married three years ago. The couple is now headed for divorce. Charu told BT exclusively, Charu had sent a notice to Rajeev on June 7 seeking to part ways amicably, but he replied with another notice levelling accusations against her. She said: “I didn’t want to talk about the problems in our marriage, but I have been forced to talk about it now because Rajeev is spreading lies about me, which is damaging to my reputation. Yes, we have taken the legal route to end the marriage and I initiated the process.”
To this Rajeev says: “Strangely, when I take her for holidays, the husband becomes the most valuable thing for her. When the holidays end, she suddenly feels that her husband is not available for her. I wish Ziana could speak for herself, then she would have answered how much her father loves her, how much she loves me and whether her father is available for her.”

TV couple Nisha Rawal and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Karan Mehra had an ugly spat in public. The actress filed a complaint of domestic violence case against her now estranged husband Karan. Nisha had accused Karan of spending all her money. Whereas Karan accused her of lying, being bipolar, and being physical abusive. The two have filed for divorce and are now fighting for their son Kavish’s custody.

Kasauti Zindagi Ki actress Shweta Tiwari was married to Abhinav Kohli, but soon after being married for a few years Shweta and Abhinav decided to part ways. The couple was also in the news for their ugly dispute. Last year, Abhinav had blamed Shweta for abandoning their son Reyansh for the sake of her participation in KKK 11. After being falsely accused, Shweta shared a video where she alleged Abhinav of assaulting her and their son. Latter proved his innocence by sharing his side of the story. Shweta has been granted custody case of her five-year-old son, Reyansh Kohli, by the Bombay High Court. But Abhinav has visitation rights.

Shweta Tiwari was first married to Raja Chaudhary, with whom she has a daughter, Palak Tiwari. Their divorce was among the most contentious in the industry. Shweta accused Raja of domestic abuse and alcoholism. She also accused him of behaving badly with her on the sets of her show. The actor is now married and has met his daughter Palak too who is now venturing into Bollywood.

Bigg Boss 4 contestants and famous TV actors Sara Khan and Ali Merchant got married to each other inside the Bigg Boss house. Their wedding was the talk of the town but after coming out of the house things were bizarre and ugly between them. Many said that their marriage was a publicity stunt for the show, but the couple had denied the rumors and said they loved each other. However, after a while, they both filed for divorce and Sara blamed Ali as she couldn’t bear his flirting nature. There were also rumors that due to financial reasons their marriage came to an end. Sara also talked about Ali's philandering ways when he was her co-contestant in Lock Upp.

Dill Mill Gayye actor Karan Singh Grover tied the knot with actress Shraddha Nigam at a gurudwara. But their marriage only lasted for 10 months and the news about them parting ways shocked many. As per the rumours then, it was Karan’s proximity with his Jhalak Dikhla Jaa choreographer Nicole that led to their split.

Uttaran actors Rashami Desai and Nandish Sandhu had a hush hush wedding in 2012, but due to their ugly disputes, the couple went their separate ways. Rashami accused Nandish of domestic violence and cheating.She had talked about her separation during Bigg Boss 13.

The television industry's longest married couple Delnaaz and Rajeev ended their marriage after being together for 14 years. The reason behind their separation was not clear, but according to reports, it's because of the differences and fights that led them to divorce. Their divorce grabbed too much of the public eye. The couple was seen in Bigg Boss after their divorce.

Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly married each other on national TV which captured a lot of the public eye for various reasons. The couples had many ugly disputes and differences. Dimpy had accused Rahul for domestic violence after a few months of marriage which made them file for divorce.

Actress Dalljiet Kaur and Shaleen Bhanot, who married in 2009, had an ugly fallout five years after their marriage. Daljiet, who is a single mother to her son Jaydon, accused Shaleen of domestic violence and abuse and filed a case against him. Following their ugly disputes, Dalljiet filed a divorce. The two have now moved on and Jaydon also meets his father.
