From buying jewellery to gold coins Celebs share their Akshaya Tritiya plans

The day is considered auspicious for starting new ventures. It is believed any venture initiated on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya is bound to prosper. My wife Neha, and I perform puja, wear new clothes, and, of course, buy gold. This tradition has been followed for years. I enjoy shopping on festive occasions as it is auspicious.

“On Akshaya Tritiya I will be buying gold. But apart from that I am really looking forward to the inauguration of our well in Konkan. We have been making a well in our farmhouse in Konkan and on the day of Akshaya Tritiya we are going to get water in that well (as per the mahurat). This is going to be the most beautiful sign of the new beginning for all of us this year. Also, there will be a haldi kumkum ceremony at my aaji and ajoba’s (grandparents’) house that aai (mother, actress Supriya Pilgaonkar) and I will be going for. It is very beautiful because my aaji and her friends dress up in nauvari saris and we binge on the traditionally-made food.”

Since Akshaya Tritiya symbolises prosperity, we traditionally buy some gold on this auspicious day. This year I will buy some jewellery for my mom, which will also serve as a gift for Mother’s Day

Akshaya Tritiya is a day that we as a family consider to be very auspicious and a good time to start or buy something new. As a mark of respect, this year, I have bought jewellery for my wife.

“Women adore jewellery, and for many of us, it’s more than just a fashion statement; it’s also an investment. Akshaya Tritiya is a special time when Goddess Lakshmi showers her blessings, making it the perfect opportunity for us to indulge in some exquisite gold jewellery. Even though I’ll be mostly shooting late, I’ve decided to take some time from my schedule to go out and purchase gold.”

Akshaya Tritiya serves as a reminder of the importance of prosperity and joy in life. I will be celebrating the feeling with the purchase of a small gold coin.

Akshaya Tritiya is a day of new beginnings, abundance and prosperity. I believe it’s a time to pray for success and happiness for yourself and everyone around. This year, I want to buy the same pair of gold earrings for me and my 16-year-old daughter Khiana.

“As we all know, Akshaya Tritiya is a very auspicious day for new beginnings, blessed by Lord Vishnu. I believe in purchasing a small amount of gold as a symbol of prosperity. I also prefer to sign important documents on Akshaya Tritiya as well. For those who are busy or unable to buy gold for any reason, purchasing ghee is also considered auspicious.”

Every year we ensure that we buy something precious on Akshaya Tritiya. Usually, we buy some gold articles, but this year we will buy gold coins in the name of our son Mehraan.
