Fracturing nose in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa to down with dengue in Khatron Ke Khiladi; a look at Bigg Boss 15 contestant Shamita Shetty’s reality TV stints

Shamita Shetty, who is currently seen in Bigg Boss 15, is not new to TV. And we are not talking about her brief appearance in Bigg Boss 3 or her BB OTT stint on the digital platform. Shamita has done a fair share of reality TV as well. Take a look:

The ‘Sharara’ fame actress was a part of the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 in 2015. She was paired with choreographer Deepak Singh. Shamita stood third position in the reality show.

Shamita fractured her nose during the dance rehearsals of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8. The actress had called it a freak accident while rehearsing with her choreographer. Shamita had to undergo surgery and stitches were required. Sister Shilpa had also written a heartfelt post giving a glimpse of Shamita from the hospital bed.

Shamita appeared as a guest alongside sister Shilpa Shetty and jiju Raj Kundra in the Kapil Sharma hosted show. When Raj got booked in alleged pornography case, an old video from the show resurfaced and went viral. The clip showed host Kapil asking Raj about his income, since he is often photographed partying, playing a football match with film stars, taking his wife shopping and doing leisurely activities.

Shamita entered as a wild card contestant in adventure based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 in 2019. Hosted by Rohit Shetty, Shamita got eliminated in the fourth place.

Shamita entering the reality show mid way didn’t go down well among the audience. The actress, who entered as a wild card, received quite the flak on social media. With only few contestants in the show left to compete in the finale, Shamita’s sudden entrance in the fourth week was called ‘unfair’ and felt she didn’t deserve to enter mid way.

Shamita was a part of the show from the very beginning but was diagnosed with Dengue, hence the mid way entrance. Shamita had revealed this during an ‘Ask Me’ session on Twitter. She was in Argentina from day 1, but illness didn’t let her perform. She had written, “I had Dengue! so all my preparation went to the ‘mosquitos’!”

Bigg Boss 3 is Shamita Shetty’ first TV stint. The third season was hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan and it aired in 2009. Shamita was in the show for 42 days and she chose to quit the show. She walked out of the show for her sister Shilpa and Raj Kundra’s wedding. Vindu Dara Singh had won the season.
