Favouritism to unfair evictions: 10 Reasons why Bigg Boss 15 has lost its charm

It has been more than 50 days inside the Bigg Boss 15 house and the entries and eviction seem no more shocking. Regular violence being overlooked, false narratives, getting same contestants over and over again, favouring certain contestants, one may say, there’s nothing new to offer anymore. Here are 10 things we have noticed about Bigg Boss 15 which shows that the makers have lost their way in an effort to make it more engaging.

2/11

Physical violence being overlooked

Every other day, we get to witness contestants getting violent and physical fights also keep happening. But how many got evicted or were shown the door? None. A house, where contestants feared that physical violence can result in their eviction, is not the same anymore. There have been many instances this season – Simba pushing Umar, Karan’s fight with Pratik, Karan choke slamming Pratik, Vishal and Jay pushing each other, only to name a few. All of them keep fighting with no fear of seeing the exit door. Zeeshan was shown the door when he had physical fight with Pratik in BB OTT. But nothing of this happened in season 15.

3/11

Re-entry and exits

Many have felt that there is no exclusivity in the house anymore. The makers keep getting former contestants. Getting back OTT contestants was also not taken lightly by the audience. And then getting OTT contestants and former contestants as wild cards. Where is the wildness in their entry? Audiences have already seen them once and they got evicted for a reason. Why have them back?

4/11

Relying heavily on Rakhi Sawant

Well, no doubt she is the ultimate entertainer. And this time, the makers have shared promos of Rakhi entering with her ‘mysterious’ husband Ritesh. Is he for real, or will it be another gimmick? Having Rakhi every season and relying on her presence to rake in TRPs? No, not done. It’s time to think of something new.

5/11

Hyping #TejRan

The sudden hype around Tejasswi Prakash and Karan Kundrra looks a bit off. The two never spoke to each other and one day Karan decided to speak about his feelings for Tejasswi. The actress, who initially didn’t want to be linked with Karan, started showing interest when wild card entrant Raqesh Bapat told about fans shipping them as #TejRan. So is it for real or just for audiences' votes?

6/11

Providing outside information

Again, the house would be a place devoid of any outside information. But this season, contestants are openly discussing and sharing outside information. They are even bringing people to create more tamasha in the house by the information shared by contestants in the house. Case in point: Ieshaan was discussing Rajiv Adatia with Miesha and in a few days makers bring in Rajiv. Result, Ieshaan and Miesha both got evicted.

7/11

Favouring contestants

This time, audience have majorly cribbed about the show being one-track – Bigg Boss’ favouritism towards Shamita Shetty. Firstly, bringing her again after Bigg Boss OTT, where she stood in the third position. Secondly, bringing in her Rakhi-brother Rajiv Adatia. Rajiv is very close to Shamita’s family. And thirdly, the favouritism hit the roof when BB brought friend Neha Bhasin and boyfriend Raqesh Bapat. Like how many cushions does a contestant need to fall back on and why one contestant is getting undivided attention and support?

8/11

Clear divisions

Bigg Boss is known to create teams, which will end up in creating a rift and division. But also, one needs to be given a fair chance. The very beginning of the show saw OTT contestants – Shamita, Pratik and Nishant’s fearless authority over the junglewasis. In Bigg Boss 15 house, the seasonal contestants had to fight for existence against the contestants who came from the digital platform. When Pratik broke the glass wall, the junglewasis had to bear the brunt by getting nominated and the former was left scot-free! During the VIP task, Umar had to select 3 members according to his choice. Clearly there were no competitive tasks that would decide the fate of the contestants, where they deserve to be a VIP or not. Only Vishal Kotian became a VIP member by performing a task.

9/11

Lesser number of tasks

Which was the last task you remember took place in the show. This season saw the least number of tasks taking place. While in previous seasons a task would run for almost a week, this season looks like contestants are really on a vacation.

10/11

Contestants deciding vote outs

Why is audience even watching the show or voting for contestants if they are not able to decide who they want in the house. Or has BB decided that the audience has no say. It’s ok with midweek, sudden or double/triple eliminations. But let the audience decide! Donal Bisht, Vidhi Pandya, Simba Nagpal got eliminated because housemates decided their fates, which is quite unfair considering audience poll is an integral part of the game format.

11/11

False narrative, scripted

The ‘false narrative’ is a term that was widely used last season by the contestants. And this time, the makers have taken note of the term. While the audience gets to see and decide what contestants are doing and their performances, this time the makers are feeding the audience with their perspectives. E.g: Calling Miesha-Ieshaan’s love angle fake, Jay Bhanushali not doing anything in the house. Let the audience decide for the contestants. In the previous seasons it would be interesting to see when contestants would tackle tasks despite not being on good terms. This season the makers are giving an open field for contestants to favour each other.

is it really a show to watch ?choosing bad contestants make it worse year after year. There is no other Siddharth Shukla who make everyone's attention towards the show.
