on May 12 in Mumbai at the latter’s residence. The two got in touch on a social networking site in 2013 and met for the first time in Mumbai, where they had moved to pursue a career in acting. Ribbhu, who was last seen in
Kumkum Bhagya, tells us, “We are very filmi and our love story seems to have followed the script of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, in which best friends realise that they are in love and want to grow old together (laughs!).”
Talking about how they met, Kirtida says, “We hadn’t met each other when we connected on Facebook. Ribbhu was in Delhi running a restaurant and also worked as a deejay and model, while I was in Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. We were in constant touch and we met when Ribbhu came to Mumbai in 2014. We hit it off instantly and became good friends supporting each other like a rock.”
Ribbhu shares, “It was during the second wave of the pandemic that we started meeting regularly to make some original content together on Instagram. Soon reels got real as fondness and we realised that something was brewing between us. However, we weren’t sure of our feelings, as we were best friends. Things fell in place gradually and even before we knew it, our families were involved. They approved of our match and with their blessings, we had a Roka ceremony. I guess we figured sometime then that we were in love.”
The couple says that its bond is deep and devoid of any sham. “We know each other inside out. One cannot fake for seven years. So, we have seen each other’s best and the worst sides, which is important when it comes to spending life together. We have loved each other in every phase in life,” says the actress, who was last seen in
Musakaan
.
The duo plans to tie the knot later this year. Ribbhu shares, “Our families are in the process of finalising the date. We are planning for a nice winter wedding in Delhi.”
