Television GEC channels have been constantly churning out news shows with new concepts. Now, a new show is set to be launched with the title Agnikund. It was earlier exclusively reported by BT that Gautam Singh Vig and Akshita Mudgal have been locked as the leads for the show.
Now, a source close to the show shared that veteran actress Shilpa Tulaskar will be seen as Gautam's mother in the show. The actress has been a renowned name in both Hindi and Marathi Industry. She has done major projects in both TV and Films.
Apart from Shilpa, a new face is also set to be seen in the show as the parallel lead. Harish Sharma will be seen as Gautam's younger brother in the show. The source also mentioned detailing about the show that the shoot shall soon commence in Jammu and the plotline shall be based on politics.
Gautam will be working with Rashmi Sharma's production house for the second time, having previously acted in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2. Gautam has appeared in several television shows, including Naamkarann, Ishq Subhan Allah, Tantra, Pinjara Khubsurti Ka, Agni Vayu, and Juniooniyatt.
In a previous conversation with Bombay Times, Gautam had opened up about his take on choosing between TV and films, he mentioned, “I go with the flow. Most of us eventually aspire to enter films, but I will keep my options open until I secure a substantial role. I am realistic about not getting multiple opportunities to make a mark in Bollywood, so I am patiently waiting until I land a good project. I owe my success to television and will always hold it in high regard. TV serves as a workshop, and I continue to take up TV shows to enhance my skills and upgrade myself. Acting is a performing art, and without regular performance, growth is limited.”
Akshita, on the other hand, began her career as a contestant on DID Li'l Masters Season 2. She has since acted in TV dramas such as Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaagey, Half Marriage, Mitegi Laxman Rekha, Ishq Par Zor Nahi, and Iss Mod Se Jaate Hain. She last appeared in Tulsidham Ke Laddu Gopal.
