Actress Akangsha Rawat, who has been a close friend of Vaibhavi for the last 16 years, is deeply shocked. She returned from her shoot in Umbergaon for the last rites. She said, "Vaibhavi and I had auditioned for a TV show Solah Singaar in 2006. That was my first show and I had met Vaibhavi then. She and I connected and became best friends later. I had texted her just a few days ago, when she took this road trip and had asked her about her marriage plans, since she just got engaged recently. She got engaged to Jay on February 14 It was not an elaborate affair, just the two families exchanged 'gol-dhana' according to Gujarati customs and rituals."

Akangsha added how their car did not go out of control, but a truck collided with the car and since it was a steep turn, their vehicle fell into the valley. She said, "There are reports that they were speeding and the car lost control, but it is not true. A truck hit them from the side while turning and that caused the car to slip into the valley. I got to know about this from her brother Ankit. Her parents are in deep shock. They were on a holiday in Australia and returned after they heard the news. I can't imagine her mom's condition right now. They reached Mumbai last night."

Akangsha also shared how she, actor Abir Goswami and Vaibhavi were three close friends. She said, "We lost Abir to a cardiac arrest in May 2013 and now I have lost Vaibhavi."

While addressing the media, JD Majethia shared how Vaibhavi used to ask him to revive Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai and also seek his advice whenever she got any project. JD said, "Vaibhavi was a pure soul and extremely talented artist."
