Exclusive - Tanvi Shewale: Holi is all about colours, childhood memories, and togetherness
Tanvi Shewale, who plays the role of Roshni in Udne Ki Aasha, is all set to celebrate the festival of colors, Holi, with joy and nostalgia. The actress, known for her charming on-screen presence, shares her love for the festival and the memories it brings back.
Recalling her childhood, Tanvi fondly reminisces about the days when Holi was all about pichkaris, water balloons, and vibrant gulal. “As kids, we would have competitions to see whose pichkari had the strongest water pressure and which colors lasted the longest. The excitement of waking up early, rushing to the terrace, and getting drenched in colors was something I looked forward to every year,” she says.
Talking about her on-screen character Roshni, who grew up in a village, Tanvi highlights the difference in Holi celebrations. “Holi in villages has a completely different charm. There, it is celebrated in a much more traditional way—with folk songs, dhols, and a deep-rooted sense of togetherness. Roshni would absolutely love Holi because, for her, it’s not just about colors but about emotions, bonding, and celebrating life,” she shares.
When asked if she prefers dry gulal or a water-filled Holi, Tanvi reveals, “I enjoy playing Holi with gulal more than water now. While water Holi was fun during childhood, I feel gulal is more vibrant and eco-friendly. It keeps the festival colorful and enjoyable without unnecessary wastage.”
For Tanvi, Holi is more than just a festival—it’s a celebration of love, unity, and happiness. “It’s one of those rare occasions when families, friends, and even strangers come together with no barriers. The joy of smearing colors on each other, dancing to Holi songs, and relishing delicious gujiyas is unmatched.”
As the festival approaches, Tanvi Shewale is excited to make more memories and spread the message of safe and happy Holi celebrations. “Play responsibly, use organic colors, and most importantly, enjoy the festival with love and laughter,” she signs off with a smile.
