Kuldeep Gor and Dharti Bhatt, known as Ratan and Roopa from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, recently joined Times of India TV for an exclusive chat. Dharti-Kuldeep: There is no competition at all. Like you mentioned Abdul’s soda shop, Jethalal’s electronics shop, Sodhi’s garage, and the Toofan Express office—there are many workplaces in the show that Mr. Asit has created. In the same way, he has now introduced a new setup for these two characters from Gokuldham Society, and we will be a part of it. Asit Modi sir always tries to bring something new to the show. He introduces different cultures and traditions to keep it fresh and interesting for the audience. He puts a lot of effort into every script and stays involved in every detail to make sure the show turns out well. (Photo: Instagram)

When Asit sir was developing this character, he discussed every small detail with us—where the character comes from, how he speaks, how he lives, how innocent he is, and what his chemistry would be like, especially with Rupa and Ratan. All these things were planned in advance. We have been part of the show for almost a year, but the shop is being introduced now because he wanted proper research to be done first. Only after that did we move forward. So this was the right time, and we’re happy about it. (Photo: Instagram)

We are trying our best for Popatlal and always pray that he finds the right life partner. Rupa is also putting in a lot of effort to help him. Whenever Daya bhabhi comes back, she will get free kachoris from us forever—absolutely free—and sarees too.
