Surbhi Chandna on BB 15, meeting Munmun Dutta: Did Taarak when I was young; didn’t have the guts to speak to the actors

Television's popular face Surbhi Chandna entered Bigg Boss 15 as one of the challengers who is going to make things difficult for the existing 10 contestants. These challengers will be seen making the contestants do tough tasks in order to win the Ticket To Finale pass. Surbhi spoke to ETimes TV and shared her experience of being on the show, her views about the contestants and why she has been turning down the offer to be on the show as a contestant. The Ishqbaaz fame actress also opened up about meeting Munmun Dutta after working with her in her debut show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah where the latter plays Babita ji. She Shared that they had a lot of fun and recalled how while doing Taarak she was so naïve that she did not have the guts to go and talk to Munmun. Surbhi further revealed that people who don’t know, they think oh my God Surbhi Taarak Mehta mein aayi thi after the videos from the show went viral a few years ago. (Photo: Instagram)

How did it feel to hear your name in Bigg Boss' voice?

While I was leaving I told Bigg Boss to keep everything aside the way you said my name Bigg Boss, 'Surbhi Chandna Bigg Boss aap ka dhnyavaad karte hain yahan aane ke liye, oh my God that was the moment for me. I watched the episode and relived the moment.' (Photo: Instagram)

Bigg Boss is a big brand and if the contestants out there think it is a joke, then it’s really sad

Bigg Boss is a very big brand and if the contestants out there think it is a joke, then it’s really sad because it is a platform where people die to be on. And if you try to play with BB, he in return will play with you. If you are going to be smart, they are going to send smarter people. The contestants this time have been cancelling tasks back to back, finding loopholes and faulty areas, it’s wrong. In so many weeks only Rakhi had earned the Ticket To Finale, a contestant who had walked into the show mid-way. This is so wrong, people who are from day one who should be dying to win the show and Ticket To Finale are cancelling, and the wildcard is the first winner of Ticket To Finale. It was necessary to wake them up. (Photo: Instagram)

I’ve a little history with Munmun... People who don’t know, they think oh my God Surbhi Taarak Mehta mein aayi thi

We had a great time inside the house. I’ve a little history with Munmun. When I had come into this industry, I had done a small cameo in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. I was very naive and raw, Mujhe koi Akal nahi thi.. Abhi toh aagayi hai thodi. It was my first experience on TV and the clips from that show are still viral on social media. People who don’t know, they think oh my God Surbhi Taarak Mehta mein aayi thi… I was so chubby and I was very young. I still have that memory where I was in my makeup and Munmun passed in front of my room and I was watching her from inside. I told myself oh my God she is so fair, she’s so pretty. And when I saw her here in Bigg Boss I was like what beautiful memories I have with her. She told me ‘yaar Surbhi Mujhe Pata he nahi tha Tu Taarak Mehta mein aayi thi’. I see those videos now on social media. (Photo: Instagram)

It is great to be put together in a house when you haven’t met each other before

Vishal is a great guy. I’ve seen it on television in shows. I met all of them for the first time. Akanksha is a chatterbox. It is great to be put together in a house when you haven’t met each other before and are a great mix of people. It was fun and the things we had thought and finally what we have done has been amazing and we had lots of fun. I am sure the audiences will also enjoy it. (Photo: Instagram)

Taarak happened to me when I was very young and I didn’t have the guts to go and speak to Munmun

Taarak happened to me when I was very young and I didn’t have the guts to go and speak to Munmun at that point of time. I went there to do a job and I saw for the first time how efficiently everyone sits on the sets and did their lines. From Dilip Joshi ji to Munmun Dutta, I did not have the guts to talk to all of them, I would talk to them during the scenes but not otherwise. I would fumble also during my dialogues but they were very warm. When I saw her yesterday, I said 'Oh my God'. I had a journey post Taarak Mehta also. After Taarak Mehta I completed my studies, did my MBA and job, then Qubool Hai happened to me when I shifted my career. It all came back to me in a flashback and I said today I am here sitting with her. She’s an experienced artist and a big name. In fact, people love her as Babitaji and people on the sets also referred to her by that name the other day by mistake. She has made that mark for herself. It felt amazing that I’ve also come a long way. (Photo: Instagram)

Who can be a Bigg Boss contestant amongst the 4 challengers? Munmun can be a strong competition, she's khatarnak

I feel Munmun and Akanksha can be Bigg Boss contestants. Munmun can be a strong competition, she's khatarnak and will give a tough fight. Akanksha is a chatterbox and has an engaging personality. Vishal is sweet like me, not that the other two women are not, they are also very sweet. But they had that fierce side. Vishal will have a sweet game like me. (Photo: Instagram)

When I am totally fine to open my cards as Surbhi Chandna an individual, I’ll do Bigg Boss

I enjoy watching the show and people know I am a big fan. And whenever I am not doing any show, I religiously follow the show. I pick my favourites, I’ve my sides and I discuss a lot with my friends. I won’t deny that the show has been offered to me every year and now the channel has become a family. They call me every year and tell me I’ve to do the show every year, they convince me also. I don’t say no outright because I know they see potential in me. I don’t want to disappoint them and I feel when I am totally fine to open my cards as Surbhi Chandna as an individual, then I’ll go. That doesn’t mean I’ve this ugly side which I want to keep as a secret from everyone. There are sides which I want people to love and when I am ready to expose those sides, I would go in that particular season. That’s not right now I feel. (Photo: Instagram)

Unfortunately this season I’ve not been able to see a potential winner

When you see Bigg Boss, you get a hint that this contestant can be a potential winner. But unfortunately this season I’ve not been able to do that. I don’t understand what is happening this season. There are days, when I find someone good, there’s someone else and let me tell you I only find them good, and don’t see a winner in them. That’s the reason I was sent inside that I could see who has that fighting spirit. I can’t pick a name but I definitely feel there are a few people who have had tremendous growth. Like Umar Riaz from the time he walked in till now, he has been fantastic and has managed to survive. It’s a great growth and he should be proud of himself. With Shamita again she doesn’t have a very thick connection in the house, but she’s still fighting and giving her best. Because when you have someone as a support the journey becomes easy. She has never lost her dignity, or been rude to anyone. I find Tejasswi also good at times when she does tasks. She has a no give up attitude. Karan came up with a fantastic strategy but he’s lost right now. I like him. (Photo: Instagram)

I find Abhijit Bichukale really good, he has a rawness, innocence to him

I find Abhijit Bichukale really good. He has a rawness, innocence to him till the time he doesn’t cross the line. I am happy there are people to put him into place when he goes overboard and that’s needed. Whenever he speaks out of line he needs to be shut. He doesn’t have any fear and is Bindaas. Though I don’t see a winner in him because he has come mid journey. I feel people who have been here since day one deserve to win. Not that they are not doing anything to be on the show, but the deserving should win. I think Nishant is doing very well, he has the spirit and in-fact he performed very well in the tasks which we gave. (Photo: Instagram)
