Former co-stars and real-life best friends Sriti Jha and Arjit Taneja are set to reunite on screen. After sharing screen space in Kumkum Bhagya, a show in which Arjit portrayed the best friend of Sriti’s on-screen husband (Shabir Ahluwalia), the duo will take on the roles of the lead couple in an upcoming show titled Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye.

Talking about sharing the screen with Arjit seven years after he exited Kumkum Bhagya, Sriti, in an exclusive chat with BT, says, “I can’t tell you how amazing it feels to be working with Arjit even though we have just done the mock shoot so far. I thought we wouldn’t stop laughing at the shoot.”

She adds, “Apart from working together in Kumkum Bhagya, Arjit and I are close friends. We are so close that we speak almost every day. We even lived together for a month-and-a-half during the lockdown, travelled, and did so many things together. So, I am thrilled to be working with him and opposite him. I am sure we will have a good time shooting for the show.”

Sriti shares that the makers’ approach towards the new show is unique and that’s the differentiating factor. She adds, “It is an interesting story of two individuals with contrasting belief systems coming together. I play Amrita, who is independent and ambitious. Her path crosses with this guy (played by Arjit Taneja) who is completely different from her and someone she would prefer to avoid. What happens eventually is something that the audience will have to wait for the show to hit the tube.”

Sriti and Arjit have been part of the long-running show Kumkum Bhagya. While Arjit, who portrayed Purab Khanna, quit the show in 2016 two years after it was launched, Sriti, who played the protagonist Pragya, bid adieu to the daily soap in 2021.
