Actor Shrey Mittal, who rose to fame post winning Splitsvilla 12 title, revealed in an exclusive interaction with ETimes TV that reality show was never on his agenda and the show happened to him by chance.
Recalling how Splitsvilla happened to him, he said, “Doing a reality show honestly was never part of my agenda. I didn’t want come across as someone, about whom people make a perception. I never saw reality shows when I was growing up. But for me, my journey was always clear. I wanted to be an actor ever since I knew that I wanted to do something. And I spent years training. Before, I started working I think professionally in 2019. But I have been training since 2012. So I have been training for 7 years only. I have gone to film school, I have studied producing. I went to LA for 2 years to learn acting. So for me my journey was so clear that I want to act, I want to do good cinema, I want to do movies. But of course Splitsvilla just happened. I had just come back from LA And the opportunity came along. The funny part is, I was making an audition video for my friend. He was my best friend, and he told me send my audition tape to. And I was free at that time.”
He further added, “Masti masti mein, I sent my introduction to the casting people for Splitsvilla. And a month later, they called me to the office for meeting. And I never thought of it. But I was like, maybe it'll be a fun opportunity, I'll get to network with people at or meet someone. I went, the interview happened, and then everything got done. Two days later, I got a call, that I got selected for Splitsvilla. Two weeks later, there's a shoot. And I was just not sure if I want to do this.”
Shrey further added how the show changed his life. He shared, “But then when the show happened, I feel like it really did change my life. I had no clue people love Splitsvilla so much. Because I never saw it, so I don't know how much it reached the audience. But once I did the show and when I saw the love, I feel like that was like a big, big blessing, which I didn't see coming my way before.”
