Actor Sandeep Kapoor, known for his impressive performances in television shows like Suman Indori, Pushpa Impossible, Bhagya Lakshmi, Patiala Babes, Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai, Kasautii Zindagi Kay, and Channa Mereya, is all set to deliver a power-packed performance in Jamai No. 1 as Pramod Shrivastav, Riddhi’s estranged father. In an exclusive conversation, the actor opens up about the emotional depth of his character, the challenges of portraying a father on-screen, and how his role will change the dynamics of the show.
Sharing insights about his character, Sandeep says, “I am playing Pramod Shrivastav, Riddhi’s father. Since childhood, Riddhi has been told that her father is a bad guy who beats her mom and has a bad character. She hasn’t seen him since her childhood. What the real truth is will prevail soon.”
Every role comes with its own set of difficulties, but for Sandeep , it’s all about enjoying the process. “Every character has his own challenges, and as an actor, you should enjoy whatever character you portray.”
The actor, who is also a father in real life, admits that this role strikes a personal chord. “Yes, playing a father on screen and also being a father in real life is really an emotional ride, and you relate to it a lot. There are a lot of emotional moments with Riddhi in Jamai No. 1, and sometimes, yes, you perform the scenes thinking of real emotions.”
Reflecting on how this role differs from his previous ones, the actor says, “This is really a very emotional and positive character I am playing in Jamai No. 1. I have played comedy characters in films and negative roles in many serials, but this is the first time I am playing a father who loves his daughter and hasn’t met her for almost 20 years. It’s truly an emotional ride, and I am loving it.”
Sandeep Kapoor’s entry promises to shake things up in Jamai No. 1. “My entry will tell the viewers the real reason behind him leaving his daughter. There will be lots of twists and turns and a beautiful and emotional experience for viewers.”
Leaving fans with a hint of suspense, he adds, “The twist will surprise the viewers and will keep them hooked to the story as there are lots of beautiful and also shocking moments ahead.”
