Exclusive - Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss 19 house to have an 'Assembly Room' inspired by Parliament house

The countdown has begun for the return of Indian television’s most controversial reality show, Bigg Boss. Season 19 is set to premiere on August 24, with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan returning as host.

This time, the Bigg Boss house features a parliament-inspired theme titled Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar, bringing a major twist to the format. For the first time in the show’s history, housemates will have the authority to make both big and small decisions, turning the house into a battleground of opinions, debates, and unfiltered choices.


Now, sources close to the Times of India TV exclusively say that the show will have an 'Assembly house' inspired by the parliament. That’s not all, the show, which until now had a weekly captain to ensure the smooth running of the house, will see a major change. This season, contestants will reportedly be split into two political parties each week, competing against one another to decide the next house leader (captain). The housemates will choose their representatives, who will then face off in elections.

The latest teaser for the 19th season of the Salman Khan-hosted reality show unveils a parliament-inspired theme titled Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar.

The promo shows Salman Khan entering dressed as a politician and he says, "Bigg Boss ka har season alag hota hai, lekin iss baar toh scene hi palat gaya hai. ‘Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar’ ka matlab hai power unke haath mein, aur jab power milti hai, toh asli chehre saamne aate hain." He adds, “Is baar contestants ko apne decisions lene ka poora haq diya gaya hai, par har decision ke saath ek consequence bhi aata hai”.

He further says, "Main hamesha kehta hoon, tameez se khelo, par yeh log tameez chhod ke drama le aate hain. This season, they’ll try to run the house their way, but when things go out of control, you know who’s coming back to set the record straight."

With this fresh twist on the traditional format, the new season aims to redefine how India watches and interacts with reality television.
