Exclusive - Romiit Raaj: It's a very emotional time of the year as this will be my first birthday without mom… I was closest to her

Romiit Raaj’s birthday this year will be different for a reason. The actor, who lost his mother sometime back, sounded emotional sharing how celebrations won’t be the same anymore. He turns a year older today (July 9).
“It's a very emotional time of the year as this will be my first birthday without my mom. I lost her last year (pauses). I was closest to my mother.I am being strong, as my mother and father would want to see me strong and happy from up there. My daughter Reha makes me a birthday card each year, which I look forward to. I am a person who likes to have family dinner on my birthday,” says the actor, known for TV shows Shaka Laka Boom Boom, Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann, Maayka, Khichdi, Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala and Yashomati Maiyya Ke Nandlala.
His birthday ritual includes a visit to the SiddhiVinayak Temple. “I start my day by taking Ganpati Bappa's blessings and then spend the rest of the day with my family,” he continues, “My Most memorable birthday has been when my Mom and dad surprised me by throwing a party and calling all my cousins and friends. It was a huge surprise for me.”
Age is just a number. Agreeing, he adds, “You have to be fit and full of life each day. Today, an 18-year-old or a 50-year-old are getting heart attacks, so age is only a number. The game of life is to stay strong, fit and positive.” So, what are your career goals now? “My career goals are to do substantial work on television, web series, and films. With God’s blessings, I have been doing all three mediums for a few years,” he smiles.
