By her own admission, Sheen Dass describes her wedding with Rohan Rai in Kashmir as a fairy-tale experience. The couple got married in the valley on April 22. She says, “The most memorable aspect of our wedding was that we exchanged our vows in Kashmir, where my parents and grandparents also got married. As my family hails from Kashmir, it was overwhelming to see them and my other relatives come together for our special day. The wedding was performed according to traditional Kashmiri customs such as
posh puza (offering flowers) and
dejhoor (a pair of Kashmiri earrings presented to the bride by her mother).”
Rohan adds, “My family performed the
chunni ceremony and
sehra bandhi. Sheen’s father made me wear
janeu (a sacred thread) before the wedding.”
It’s been two days since they exchanged nuptial vows. “To be honest, it doesn’t feel like anything has changed. The bond Rohan and I share has always been extremely special and our marriage feels like a continuation of our close friendship,” says the new bride.
What about their honeymoon plans? “Since we were busy planning the wedding, we couldn’t find the time to plan our honeymoon. However, we are looking forward to planning one soon, even if it’s delayed. For now, it’s about spending quality time with our loved ones,” the actor couple replies.
Apart from spending time with their families, they also went for a shikara ride. “It was surreal to be on a shikara in the midst of Dal Lake. It couldn’t have been more picturesque than that,” says Rohan
