MasterChef India which returned with a new season recently has chefs Garima Arora, Vikas Khanna, and Ranveer Brar as judges. Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar, who have been associated with the show in the past as well, shared their excitement for the culinary show. The chefs reveal that they are searching for someone who will represent the country on the map. They are amazed at the level of cooking that is happening in the kitchen. What dishes would the chefs cook for their favourite Bollywood stars?
Ranveer Brar says, "Viewers are going to have a great time watching the show. Pandemic has shown how much Indians love food and has raised the bar of the home cooks’ skills. The level of contestants we are seeing this season has surpassed expectations and broken boundaries. We all are excited about doing the show. Chef Garima keeps telling me that she was not aware that the level of common home cooks’ and their skills is on such a high level. We are having a great time every day."
When asked what they are looking for in the contestants and what are the parameters they would be judging them on, Michelin chef Vikas Khanna shares, "We are looking for people who can give a new identity to Indian food worldwide. Whose zeal, enthusiasm and passion for cooking should be extraordinary so that we can take Indian food to a new level. That person should be the representation of us. Like when a girl wins Miss World competition she represents the entire India, so the person winning the show should represent our Indian food worldwide, we are looking for such a contestant. We are looking for a person whose passion for cooking can give him or her fame and recognition. The person who wins MasterChef will be part of our cultural heritage."
Ranveer Brar added, "MasterChef is a representation of our life and we are looking for a person who cooks food with all heart, happiness and smile and battles all the issues with a smile and cooks well. A person with these qualities deserves to win the show. We are looking for such a person. Stretchability is another thing that we are looking at. If you have a vision in life to do something with it and reach somewhere in life then you have all the chances to become the next MasterChef India."
On being asked about a food item they would like to cook for for their favourite Bollywood star, Vikas Khanna says, "I would love to cook Mutton Biryani for Shabana Azmi." Ranveer Brar says, "I would like to cook Galouti Kabab for Muzzafar Ali Sahab."
