Exclusive - Niharika Chouksey opens up about her dreamy bridal look in Tumm Se Tumm Tak; says 'I was just staring at myself'
Niharika Chouksey’s latest bridal appearance in the television show Tumm Se Tumm Tak has become one of the most talked-about moments among viewers lately. Draped in a classic red saree with layered traditional jewellery, the actress looked every bit like a dream bride, and fans haven’t stopped sharing screenshots and edits from the sequence online.Talking about her first reaction after seeing herself completely dressed as a bride, Niharika admitted that even she was left speechless for a few moments. “Honestly, I was just staring at myself for a few seconds because the look felt so surreal and dreamy. The red saree, the traditional jewellery, the floral varmala — everything together instantly made me feel like a real bride. It was a very beautiful and emotional moment for me,” she shared. The actress revealed that she was actively involved in shaping the final bridal appearance. According to her, the idea was to keep the styling elegant, emotional, and rooted in tradition rather than making it overly glamorous. “I was definitely involved in giving my inputs because I wanted the look to feel authentic and elegant. Our styling and creative teams worked very hard, and together we made sure the bridal look matched the emotional mood of the sequence perfectly,” she said.
While every detail of the outfit stood out on screen, Niharika confessed that the jewellery became her favourite part of the entire ensemble. From the layered necklaces to the nath and maang tikka, the accessories helped complete the emotional bridal vibe of the sequence. “For me, it was definitely the jewellery and the traditional red drape. The layered necklaces, nath, maang tikka and bangles completed the entire bridal vibe beautifully. I also loved how subtle yet glowing the makeup looked on screen,” she added.Interestingly, the actress feels the bridal styling reflected her character Anu’s emotional state perfectly. She explained that the makers intentionally avoided anything too flashy and focused instead on softness and innocence. “Yes, completely. The look was graceful, traditional and emotional, just like my character’s state of mind during the wedding sequence. Nothing was overly loud or flashy — it had softness and innocence, which connected very well with the character,” Niharika explained. The actress also shared that Indian brides themselves became the biggest inspiration behind the styling. The team aimed for a timeless aesthetic that would continue to feel beautiful even years later. “I think Indian brides themselves are always the biggest inspiration. We wanted a timeless and classic look rather than something overly trendy, so the styling had a very rooted and traditional feel,” she said.Creating the bridal transformation, however, was far from easy. Niharika revealed that it took almost three to four hours every day to complete the look before shooting the wedding scenes. “It took almost three to four hours including hair, makeup, draping and jewellery. Bridal looks always take time because every little detail matters,” she shared.Despite the stunning visuals, carrying the heavy attire throughout long shooting schedules became physically exhausting at times. “Definitely the jewellery and managing the outfit during long shooting hours. The varmala, heavy necklaces and saree together become quite difficult after a point, especially while performing emotional scenes. But once the camera starts rolling, you forget the discomfort because the look makes you feel so special,” she admitted.According to Niharika, wedding tracks automatically bring a different atmosphere to television sets because everyone understands how emotionally important such sequences are for audiences. “Definitely. Everyone becomes more emotional and excited because wedding tracks always feel grand and memorable on television,” she said. The overwhelming fan response has clearly made the effort worthwhile. From edits to heartfelt comments, viewers have flooded social media praising the traditional bridal styling and Niharika’s graceful screen presence. “The response has been overwhelming. People have been sharing screenshots, edits and lovely messages saying they loved the traditional bridal vibe,” the actress concluded.
