Exclusive - Naagin 7's Kanika Mann on her look: The night before the shoot, Ektaa ma’am suggested that the character should wear sarees instead of suits

Kanika Mann recently returned to television with Naagin 7, where she plays an icchadhari dragon. The actress is receiving praise for her performance, and viewers especially love her saree looks. In an exclusive interview with Times of India TV, Kanika spoke about her saree looks and how producer Ektaa Kapoor decided to change her attire the night before the shoot.

Speaking about the same she said, "When it came to costumes, we all sat down and discussed them in detail." Our stylist, Anuradha Khurana was closely involved. Initially, the idea was for my character to wear suits, so we discussed what kind of designs would work and ended up designing them together. Around 10–12 suits were prepared. But just a night before the shoot began, ma’am suggested that she felt the character should wear a saree instead. It was literally the last minute, but Anuradha didi didn’t even hesitate. She assured us it would be done."




She further spoke about the saree look and revealed, "We immediately sat down again, discussed the look, and she said she already knew all the measurements, so it wouldn’t be an issue. Everything was finalised overnight. Since I’ve worked with Anuradha didi for a long time, she understands my body structure well and knows what will suit me and what won’t. I also shared my input. I wanted the look to be minimal, especially the jewelry—nothing too heavy. We decided on that collectively, and in the end, I think the entire look turned out really well."

In the same interview, Kanika opened up about bagging a role in Naagin 7, "I’m truly very happy to be a part of Naagin 7 and the Naagin franchise because the show itself is huge. I believe this might be the only purely fictional season among all seven, which makes it even more special. I’m extremely grateful that Ekta ma’am chose me for this role. When I heard the narration, I literally got goosebumps. I remember thinking how amazing the character was and how powerful the story felt. I’m really thankful that she trusted me with this part."
