Rachana Mistry had a roka ceremony with businessman Amit Madaan in Mumbai on December 6. The actress, who was last seen in TV show Dabanggi, has been in a relationship with Amit since the past three and a half years.
Rachana said, “I had met Amit at his cafe in Borivali. We gradually became friends and over a period of time, we realised we were in love. On Friday, we had a small roka ceremony with just close family members and friends. I am a Gujarati and Amit is a Punjabi, so we had both a roka and a gol-dhana ceremony.”
Talking about their relationship, she shared, “We are very happy and blessed. Amit is supportive of my career. He motivates me to be my best self. He is also very grounded and understands me well. I am very happy and feel blessed because our families have been talking about our engagement for a long time now."
The two plan to tie the knot next year. “We will set a wedding date soon. As of now, I am happy that our families are happy and the roka ceremony went well.”
On the work front Rachana said, “After Dabanggi, I wanted to spend time with my family, but now I am ready to get back to work.” Rachana played the lead in Na Umra Ki Seema Ho with Iqbal Khan. She said, "It was a well-written show. I enjoyed shooting for it because the story revolved around how an older guy falls in love with a younger girl."
