She got married in December 2019
Actress Mona Singh has been a part of both the television and Bollywood industry since quite some time now. In the December of 2019 right before the pandemic and lockdown started, she got married to producer Shyam Rajagopalan in a traditional and intimate Sikh wedding. In an exclusive chat with us she revealed interesting details about her husband.
So how did they meet each other?
She reveals, “We met through a common friend. It was her birthday and she invited both of us to her party. Then we met again, when the same friend was getting married. Every time we met, it was through her. Eventually he took my number from my friend (thankfully). And the rest is history!
Has she moved base?
While there were rumours that the actress now lives in Delhi with her husband, she clears the air by saying, “I have never lived in Delhi. I have been living with my husband in Mumbai since the beginning.”
What does Shyam Rajagopalan do
Another confusion has been about the nature of job of her husband - Is he is a businessman or filmmaker? To this Mona answers, “First things first, he is not a banker! When I got married this news spread that he is a banker, but he isn’t. He is from the same industry that I am. He is a producer and he directs advertisements. He shoots too sometimes, so we are in the same field.”
Honeymoon can wait!
Even though the actress likes keeping her life private; in a recent chat with us she revealed exclusive details about her husband and her married life. “Since the time we have gotten married we are living in a lockdown. We haven’t been able to go for our honeymoon yet, but I want the world to first heal. We are not in any hurry now because for both of us, recovery of people is more important than our leisure. The pandemic should get over first,” shares Mona.
Has he seen Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin?
So did he too have a fan boy moment when the two of them met? She says, “When we met for the second time, I remember him saying that I am such a down-to-earth person just like Jassi. So I was like Hain! Then I was like ya, that is the case maybe!”
'It’s good that we are from the same professional background'
She says, “It’s the best thing that has happened. Last lockdown I was shooting for a project and I was not home for three months, but he understood. He understands what I am as a professional and what my job demands. He lets me be and that is the best part about him. Why should anyone stop working post marriage?”
