Actor-Singer Madhuri Pandey, essaying a humorous role in the TV show Molkki, enjoys the lighter genre. Her character Chandani has a big crush on
Amar Upadhyay's on-screen avatar Virendra Pratap Singh.
"I have got several compliments for my hilarious girl efforts. You have to be born with the funny bone. Agreed you could hone your jesting skills, but not everybody can ace the comic timing." says this Uttarakhand-born software engineer turned performer.
"After playing heavy-duty drama in both positive and negative roles over the years (Bhabhi, Annu Ki Hogayi Wah Bhai Wah, Dahej, SabKi Laadli Bebo and Naagin 3), doing something different is fun.
I am forever ready to imbibe any genre," said the actress.
"So making a comic detour always helps an artist recharge his batteries. I want to do more laughter roles in the future. If given a chance, I would also like to be part of
The Kapil Sharma show," she informs.
"I have one problem with desi comedy, though, which somehow goes too slapstick and is below the belt," she added.
When asked how it is working with Amar Upadhyay, "A breeze, for he is a very cooperative artist. Whenever you work with a good co-star you automatically raise your bar as well."
Here Madhuri informs that knowing her above versatility, the Molkki creative team might make her character play with other emotions," so be ready for some significant twists and turns."
Apart from the small screen, Madhuri has just made her OTT debut with historical fantasy drama Empire. "I had a brief role which I enjoyed. You get to learn a lot working with biggies like Nikhil Advani, and Amitakshara Kumar (Sanjay Leela Bhansali associate. I am open to more web projects, even comic series, but yes, I will not be game for dropping my clothes for sure," ended she.
