What has been your take away from this show and your character Sikander

I've become more empathetic. There's a lot of empathy which has grown inside me. It happens that whatever character you play, it leaves something and Sikander has left a very very good thing, which is empathy and essentially required in today's life. I had this quality but playing Sikander that has come naturally in me now. Money is something that you earn but I've also earned a lot of good people here, beautiful relationships that I have with the two kids Myra and Aakriti. I will always be there to guide them. There's a lot of acclaim as an actor. What a brilliant response I have received for the craft. I feel really happy because I've worked really really hard for it. (By: Gayatri Nirmal)

Part of Sikander is still left in me

It's actually very difficult for me to separate Sikander from me at the moment. Sikander and I are one at the moment barring a certain characteristics. My duty now is to start detaching Sikander from myself. I have to come back to Mohit. For two years I have been deeply involved with Sikander, it's all in me. (Photo: Instagram)

Because of the leap to be included in the show, you put down your papers. If not for the leap, would you take that step?

Never, ever I would have taken that step because this show is very close to my heart. When I heard the role for the first time, I fell in love with the character. I wanted to play it desperately and that's what I did. I gave more than my 100 percent. I wouldn't have ever thought about leaving this show. It became a little traumatic for me in between but I didn't have any plans to leave the show. Whenever it became traumatic and hectic, my producer was very kind and gave me the right kind of break. Whenever he would see my scenes, he would understand that I am not too involved in it. The producer would then flip the story and give me a playful character or otherwise would give me a little break. So, the question of leaving the show would have never popped up. (Photo: Instagram)

Connection with onscreen daughters Amayra (Myra) and Kulfi (Aakriti)

They are like family and more than me, they are very much connected with me. I am unable to understand how in the next few days when it will sink in that I am not shooting with them. That feeling is yet to sink in. Yesterday was my last day and for the next few days when I don't go for the shoot and don't meet them very often. I think then it will sink in. I don't know how I am going to handle this. The kids will handle it because during childhood it's not that intense. They love me a lot and the bond will still be there. It will be more difficult for me, I think. Not that I love one child more and not the other, I love both of them equally. In fact, both Aditi and I love them. I even told their parents once that can I adopt your kids. I love them because they are still very innocent and till the time that innocence is within them it will be very good for them as actors and human beings. They are the best actors, I've worked with and I am very proud of them. They are two little angels who will always be with me. (Photo: Instagram)

Show slipping down on TRP charts

I think ups and downs keep happening in every show. So, that's not a big thing. Our show did not see a too low dip. We had been ruling the 8 pm slot on the channel and we've been on the first position for 1 year. There are phases in every show and we can't run the same track every time - the dramatic and TRP kind. There comes a time where the story's pace becomes slow. It takes its own space, it takes its own route. In daily soaps there are phases which happen and the writers decide the phase in the respective character's life. There's a little journey that happens for a few weeks, episodes where things become a little easier. There's a possibility of the dip there and that's exactly what happened with our show. But it did not fall too low that the audience will forget the show completely. Your loyal audience keeps on watching the show and then the main drama which comes up, the TRP picks up. Kerala vacation

I see myself getting detached from Sikander and come back to Mohit. Mohit likes to travel, likes to play, likes to read and learn something. I'll travel a lot but the break will not be that long. I will start missing acting in two weeks and I will get back to work. My plan right now is to head back to Kerala for a week-long break. I will be with myself alone. (Photo: Instagram)

Break time

It will be a month or two-months long break before I sign anything. Right now there are many offers but I haven't zeroed down upon anything. I'm very choosy as an actor because I live a character. So, it's not easy for me to say yes. (Photo: Instagram)

Mohit's love for wife Aditi

The kind of relationship we share is exactly the same that is reflected through photos. We share a beautiful bond and she loves me, I love her and we are growing together. There's no pretension and we are not the kinds who pretend. We keep on helping each other to grow and that's what love is all about and that's how people meet. That's why people come into your life to make a difference. (Photo: Instagram)

Secret to successful marriage

Wherever I see, separation and divorce phas been happening a lot that people are getting separated. I think the basic reason for that is, a lot of distractions, no self-control and patience. People are not patient anymore. Most important thing that all of us should imbibe in ourselves and inculcate in us is - self-control. There's nothing more than self control. When you are in this industry, you go for an outdoor shoot and there are times when I have been with some girls and Aditi has always been there. She understands everything and trusts me. Trust is another important thing, secondly, self-control. Mind will throw very weird things at you but you should not listen to everything. You should listen to what is right because mind is always there to confuse you. Mind has a lot of thoughts and if you start indulging in those thoughts then all these things happen. So, what you need is a lot of self-control. Giving each other space, at the same time, trusting each other and also teaching each other self-control. That comes with maturity. These are a few tips that I can give and these are things that we (Aditi and Mohit) do. You also have to be transparent with each other. (Photo: Instagram)
