Exclusive - Manav Gohil on the return of Tenali Rama: The character is very close to my heart but the chances of me joining looks slim due to financial constraints
Manav Gohil is known for his impactful roles in television and films. With a career spanning over two decades, he’s appeared in popular shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Shaadi Mubarak, and Tenali Rama, where his versatile performances have won him a loyal fan following. Manav addressed the ongoing rumours surrounding Tenali Rama and discussed whether he would be returning to the show. In an exclusive conversation with the Times of India TV, he shared his thoughts on the speculation, clarifying his position regarding a potential comeback.
There's talk of Tenali Rama, the iconic show, making a comeback, and rumors suggest you might be part of it once again. Is that true?"
"Yes, I’ve spoken with the producers and am aware that the show is set to return. Given our past collaborations and my excitement about the show’s revival, I had a brief meeting with them to discuss it."
He further added, "My relationship with the team goes back years, both professionally and personally. However, the chances of me joining looks slim due to financial constraints. The industry is already facing financial challenges, and as friends, they wouldn’t want me to significantly reduce my budget. Similarly, I wouldn’t want them to stretch theirs to accommodate me. So, we’ve decided, in a friendly way, to put the idea on hold for now."
Manav, who portrayed King Krishnadevaraya in the series, expressed that he would have cherished the opportunity to return to the show, emphasizing that the role will always hold a special place in his heart.
"I’m not sure who will eventually take on the role, but I’m confident they’ll be a great fit. While I’d love to be part of the show again, let’s see how things unfold. Either way, I wish them all the best. The character is, and always will be, very close to my heart," he concluded.
