Exclusive - Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2: Prachi Kowli to enter as Hemant Virani's wife; says 'Joining the sets of KSBKBT 2 felt deeply emotional and incredibly special'
The new season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is set to introduce a six-year time jump soon, adding a fresh layer to Tulsi’s (Smriti Irani) journey. After the leap, Tulsi is seen living separately, away from Shantiniketan and Mihir Virani. In the latest promo, she appears alongside her son Angad (Rohit Suchanti) living a simple life. The leap and the fresh chapter in the story are set to introduce some exciting new faces, along with the comeback of original cast members. The latest we hear is that popular actress Prachi Kowli will be seen entering the show as Hemant Virani’s (Sandeep Anand) wife. In an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, Prachi expressed her excitement about joining the iconic show and working again with Balaji Telefilms.
The actress shared, "I will be seen playing Pooja Hemant Virani in Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, a central and positive character who always stands firmly by Tulsi’s side. My television journey started with Balaji Telefilms and the legendary Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Ekta ma’am gave me my first big opportunity, and from there, my journey naturally moved forward. Since then, I’ve been part of several shows including Hawan, Sethji, Neeli Chhatriwaale, Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka, Katha Ankahee, Aaina, and Meri Bhavya Life. Coming back to Balaji Telefilms after so many years, and that too for such an iconic show like Kyunkii, feels deeply emotional and nostalgic. This chance has come my way because of Ekta ma’am and her creative team, especially Siddharth Vankar, who believed in me. I’m truly thankful for their trust. It feels like life has come full circle, and I’m exactly where I was meant to be."
When asked if she has started shooting for the show, the actress said, "Yes, I have. Everyone has been extremely warm and welcoming. There’s a very positive vibe on the sets, and they made me feel comfortable right from day one."
Talking about her experience of being back on the sets of an Ekta Kapoor show, Prachi said, "Joining the sets of Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi felt deeply emotional and incredibly special. There was an overwhelming sense of nostalgia, almost like coming home. Walking onto the set brought back memories of where my journey had begun, of the passion, the learning, and the magic of working with Balaji Telefilms. It felt surreal to be part of such an iconic show once again, but also grounding and reassuring. There was excitement, gratitude, and a quiet pride in having come full circle, older, wiser, and still connected to the same creative energy that shaped my early career. Also there were familiar faces on the set—friends like Hiten Tejwani, whom I had worked with earlier."
She added, "Reconnecting with colleagues I already shared a bond with made the experience even more special. Their presence brought a sense of warmth and ease, making the transition smoother and adding to the feeling of belonging on the sets. And through it all, there’s a heartfelt hope—that the audience embraces me with the same love they’ve always shown this iconic show. I truly hope they connect with my character and accept me as part of the Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi family."
Prachi was previously seen in shows like Katha Ankahee and Meri Bhavya Life.
For the uninitiated, the makers released a new promo of the upcoming 6 years leap. In the promo, we see Tulsi living in a humble chawl, offering prayers and embracing a simple, peaceful life with Angad and his wife Vrinda. Although she appears content, a quiet ache lingers in her heart. The moment she comes across Mihir’s photograph, she is reminded of the bond she once believed was unbreakable, questioning how he drifted away from their world despite the trust she placed in their relationship.
