Exclusive: Kismat Ki Lakeeron Se actress Shaily Priya Pandey: After several rejections this show was the good thing that happened to me

Actress Shaily Priya Pandey, who is currently seen essaying the female lead in the show Kismat Ki Lakeeron Se, spoke to ETimes TV about how after several rejections, this show worked out for her and things turned around

How’s it being a part of Kismat Ki Lakeeron Se, which has been running successfully for quite many months now

It’s been a lovely experience so far being a part of the show. It’s been one and half years and very soon we will be completing 500 episodes. It’s very special for all of us, the cast, crew and technicians as well. This show was the launching show of a launching channel. So many risks were involved but we are going strong. It’s very motivating and lovely feeling.

With several shows going off air in a few months, do TRP numbers bother?

TRP numbers definitely matters. There are so many high-rated shows, TV shows with big names, but when audiences don’t connect, they go off-air. That’s a sad part of it. That’s why makers at times don’t take risks with new concepts. If it’s a simple storyline, audiences don’t and sometimes it is a bit different, and show’s don’t run longer.

The kind of response you have been getting for your role

I have got beautiful response for my role as Shraddha. There are so many people, who stop me on road, shake hands with me, click pictures with me. It is the most beautiful feeling. Money wise as well since the show is running so well. I have also fulfilled a lot of wishes and dreams, specially buying a car. I remember initially when the show was doing well and I was able to save some money and thought of buying a small car. It would save travel time. Then when I got to know that the show is going to extend for some more months, I thought of buying a bigger car. The car was bit higher than my budget but I went for it.

On her journey in the industry

Like all newcomers face, going for auditions and getting rejected. Then you pull up your socks and get ready for auditions. It is a process which all actors have to go through. In this industry, whatever happens, it’s all a matter of chance. You have to wait for that chance. It takes time. I have also stood in line, given audition, gave mock shoot, shooting date was also given to me. Still somehow it didn’t work. It disheartens everyone. Everyone puts in a lot of hardwork. For everyone, there's one lucky moment that happens and I believe this show worked for me.
