According to sources, Iqbal, who was last seen in Dil Se Dil...Tak on TV, will play an important role opposite the lead actress

, who plays the title role of Nima Denzongpa. A source said, "Nima Denzongpa is a show about real characters and how a kind-hearted and innocent girl Nima goes through struggles in life. Iqbal's character will bring an important twist in the show. He will be paired opposite Nima."

Iqbal has been part of many TV shows like Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do,

Waaris

, Dil Se Dl Tak and Tumhari Pakhi. The last few years, he has been doing web shows. He is even returning to movies; in fact he had started his acting career with films.

In an earlier interview to BT, Iqbal had shared how television is a medium he can never be thankless about. "I can never be thankless because TV has given me a career. I do get a bit disappointed when a good TV show has to change its script because of the ratings game, but whenever that has happened, I have only tried to give it my best and worked with full conviction. I have always done TV shows when the script has appealed to me,” says Iqbal.

On the personal front, Iqbal's wife Sneha is expecting their second child and the actor will become a father again soon.
