After playing the role of Naitik for seven long years and ruling every household as a doting son and husband,
Karan Mehra decided to bid adieu to Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai recently. However, the actor is back on the small screen to play himself in one of the most controversial reality shows,
Bigg Boss.
Karan, who has managed to stay away from controversies and has had a clean image, said yes to the show as he wanted the audiences to see his real side.
"I think Bigg Boss is a really interesting show. People has always known me as Naitik and not as Karan Mehra. I took up this show to let them know who is Karan and how I am in real-life. Also this season is going to be interesting because of the concept common man and celebrities sharing the house. So all these factors led me to say yes to the show," said Karan before entering the
Bigg Boss 10 house.

I have been in the industry for 14 years now and people who have worked with me will know I can't fake. I am not going with any strategy in the Bigg Boss house as I know no strategy works once you are in that house. Naitik was an extension of Karan Mehra and people will ultimately see that," stated the Yeh Rishta actor.
Karan, who got married to long-term girlfriend Nisha Rawal in 2012, feels that this will be a testing period for him as he has never stayed away from his wife for such a long period.
"This will be a testing period for both of us as we have never stayed away for so long. She was the one who pushed me to take up this show. But now that I am into it I will give my 100 percent. Now, I can feel what our soldiers go through when they have to stay away from the families. Of course, their cause is much more bigger than us. They have a great purpose. It is going to be difficult to stay without Nisha," feels Karan.

I am fine with sharing with other men on the show, but definitely not with any other female contestant. In case that situation arises I will politely ask the lady to sleep on my bed and I will sleep in the living room. But I don't think it is going to happen as Bigg Boss is a family show. Another thing I can't share with anyone else are my clothes as I am allergic. Apart from these two things I open to share my stuff with others."
When asked, how will he avoid unnecessary fights, he said, "I don't think fighting can solve any issue. Rather than fighting I would prefer to sit and talk. Also I would not indulge in back-biting. Whatever, I feel will speak in front of everyone. I won't shy away from taking a stand if things are right. But I would definitely not do it to be in the limelight," concludes Karan.
