Exclusive: Heeramandi’s Shruti Sharma calls Sharmin Segal a ‘headstrong girl’; says ‘one day I was scared on sets and she kept consoling me’

Heeramandi’s Shruti Sharma praises co-star Sharmin Segal. Shruti Sharma, who portrayed Saima in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web show "Heeramandi," praises her co-star Sharmin Segal, who played Alamzeb, calling her a ‘headstrong girl.’

Shruti recalls a day on set when she was scared, and Sharmin continuously consoled her, showcasing their strong off-screen bond.

Speaking to ETimes TV, Shruti shared, “It was great. She's a very headstrong girl and when she decides that she can do this then she does it. And I think that that quality is really commendable so and somewhere she's very cooperative as well, you know. I remember one day I was very scared on set, so she was like, she was also consoling me that ‘don't worry, you know, everything will be fine, why are you scared like this’. She's a nice person and we had a good chemistry on set. So, yeah, I think it we both are somewhere caring for each other.”

The actress also spoke about the maker – SLB’s magnum opus vision behind the show. She shared, “Every person has a vision, but that vision in detail, very detailed way, keeping small details in mind, looking up at the screen, this is a very amazing quality which is in our Sanjay sir. You won't believe it, we used to reach on set, we used to have readings, during the readings, if they don't understand any dialogue, they would keep changing it until the song matches the rest of the dialogues. A perfect choreography, a perfect song should be set for everyone. Our costumes would also be decided like this. This is the mood of the scene. This is the color of the room. According to that, what should be the color of the clothes of the actor who is sitting in the center? Then, in contrast to that, the color of the clothes of the other actors. The time that it took so long, two years, it was because of these things. Because for half a day, Sir is deciding that yes, our character should be serious in every way, it should be alive and real and it should look very beautiful.”


Shruti has been a part of several TV shows in the past and she called this project a 'history making project' in her career.
