Exclusive: Delnaaz Irani and Kishwer Merchantt recall fond memories with Gufi Paintal; latter says, 'He was a very warm person'

Mahabharat's Shakuni aka Gufi Paintal passed away this morning, leaving his family, friends and the entire entertainment industry shattered and emotional. The late actor's funeral was held today (June 5). His co-stars, close friends and family members reached his residence to pay their last respects.

Delnaaz Irani and Kishwer Merchantt were one of the stars that were present at Gufi's funeral.There were many other actors who paid their last respects. Delnaaz and Kishwer exclusively spoke to ETimes TV about Gufi Paintal and their memories with him.
Delnaaz shared, "There are a lot of memories, we did theatre together. He was a legendary actor. Since childhood, we used to call him Shakuni mama. He loved his work. He was a loving person and recently I did a show with his brother Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Sey so his family was very close to us. Gufiji was a social person and we would often see each other at such gatherings. I used to meet him often when we did theatre together. We will remember him for all his loving memories."
Kishwer shared, "I have known Gufi uncle for so many years. A week ago we came to know about him getting hospitalized. We were only praying that he gets well soon but I guess he couldn't fight it anymore. I only pray that wherever he is he stays happy. I have a lot of memories with him. He was a warm person, his hand on our head would be extremely soothing. Today he is not with us, I will miss him being around."
