Exclusive! Bhagya Lakshmi actor Mohit Malhotra talks about his Baisakhi ritual: “I ensure that I visit Gurdwara every year”

Baisakhi is a spring time harvest festival that celebrates the beginning of the Sikh New Year. It is largely observed in Northern India as a celebration of the spring harvest. This holiday has significant religious importance and is usually observed on April 14th every year. Baisakhi is celebrated with considerable zeal and grandeur in most parts of the country. When it comes to the festival, TV actor Mohit Malhotra of Bhagya Lakshmi shares his thoughts on the significance and commemoration of this auspicious day.
Mohit Malhotra, who plays Vikrant in the TV serial Bhagya Lakshmi, stated, “Baisakhi is a prominent festival that is mostly celebrated in northern parts of India, and it is a fun festival to celebrate with family and close friends. This festival symbolizes the beginning of the Hindu Solar New Year, so every year, I celebrate this with my family in the society and perform the folk dance of Punjab - Bhangra, on the beats of Dhol. Also, I ensure that I visit Gurdwara every year on this day and serve in the ‘Langar’. This year, I am celebrating this festival in Mumbai with my friends in the society and will visit the Gurdwara in the evening. Lastly, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Baisakhi.”

Mohit made his television debut as a competitor in the 2nd season of Splitsvilla and went on to play the lead role in Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke.
