Exclusive - Avinash Mishra opens up about how he rebuild his health post Bigg Boss 18; reveals having a high-protein, sugar cut, time-bound diet and including functional training, cardio to his workout routine

Coming out of the Bigg Boss house wasn’t just a career milestone for Avinash Mishra, it was a reset button for his health and overall wellness. The intense environment inside the house had taken a toll on his routine, and the first thing he did post-eviction was return to basics. In an exclusive conversation, the actor revealed, “Proper sleep, home-cooked food, and stretching became my priority. My immediate fitness goal was to restore energy levels and tackle the bloating caused by the disrupted body clock and irregular meals inside the house," he shares. (Photo: Instagram)

Emotional eating in Bigg Boss

Bigg Boss, as he describes, is a pressure cooker that completely reshapes how you look at food and rest. “You eat emotionally there. Some days I overate, some days I skipped meals. It made me realise food isn’t just fuel it’s emotional comfort. Today, my diet is clean, high in protein, low in sugar, and strictly time-bound. I like to eat dinner before 8:30 pm and it is non-negotiable. I avoid crash diets and instead believe in staying consistent and disciplined. When you’re in front of the camera, your body reflects your choices," Avinash says. (Photo: Instagram)

Perfect workout routine

"Functional training is my current favorite as it keeps me agile and ready for shoots or dance numbers. But I balance it out with strength and cardio too. Monday is legs day—it sets the tone. Even during hectic travel schedules or long shoot days, I stick to my routine with some smart hacks. I always carry protein sachets, dry fruits, instant oats, and resistance bands. Even a 20-minute HIIT session in a hotel room helps. It’s not about perfect workouts, it’s about showing up,” he reveals. (Photo: Instagram)

Quick energy on sets and early morning routine

When it comes to quick energy on sets, Avinash keeps it simple. “Bananas, black coffee, boiled eggs, protein smoothies, and a mix of nuts, these are my go-tos. My mornings are rooted in wellness. I start with two glasses of warm lemon water, followed by light stretching and deep breathing. I stay off my phone for at least 30 minutes after waking up. Breakfast is usually oats or eggs with multigrain toast and sometimes I journal, it helps me clear my head before I step out,” he adds. (Photo: Instagram)

Building strong immunity and skin care routine

After Bigg Boss, he has become more conscious about immunity. “You’re exposed to a lot in that house, so I now regularly have haldi water, green juices with spinach and amla, and Vitamin C,” Avinash shares. For skincare, he keeps it simple but consistent. “Double cleansing is non-negotiable. I use a gentle face wash, followed by a hydrating serum. Ice cubes help reduce puffiness instantly. Less is more when it comes to skincare,” he says. (Photo: Instagram)

Avinash doesn't believe in cheat meals

Interestingly, Avinash doesn’t believe in cheat meals. He says, “Discipline is everything. You have to sacrifice cravings even when it’s tough. I prefer sticking to my clean diet—it keeps my energy and mood stable. On low-motivation days, I tap into my own journey for a push. I look at my old transformation photos. They remind me how far I’ve come. Even if I don’t hit the gym, I’ll do a few pushups or take a walk. Sleep and recovery are also non-negotiable now. I used to hustle without resting, and it caught up with me. Now, I make sure to sleep at least 7 hours. Recovery isn’t laziness, it’s smart hustle." (Photo: Instagram)

Workout regime

One underrated wellness habit he swears by is posture correction. Avinash shares, “It sounds basic, but good posture boosts confidence, prevents injuries, and keeps you looking camera-ready,” The actor says. He also practices mindful chewing and eating slowly, something people often ignore but which has worked wonders for his digestion and mindfulness. When it comes to workouts, I strike a balance between solo and guided sessions. If I’m trying something new or need to push harder, I work with a trainer. But solo workouts help me tune into myself. The key is knowing when to seek guidance and when to trust your rhythm." (Photo: Instagram)

Prep before shoot

Before stepping into a long day of shooting or a live event, Avinash has a short ritual. “I do deep belly breathing for five minutes, neck rolls, hamstring stretches, and shoulder rotations and then, I give myself a little pep talk: ‘Let’s go, Avinash. Lights. Camera. You," he concluded. Through consistency, self-awareness, and discipline, Avinash Mishra has not only bounced back stronger post Bigg Boss but has also redefined what it means to live a fit, focused, and fulfilling life.
