Exclusive - Ashi Singh on goals she wants to accomplish in 2024: I started working at a young age and that made me miss out on basic things; want to learn how to drive, swim and keep fit
Ashi Singh, who has proved her acting mettle with shows like Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, Meet is one of the popular names of the television industry. As 2023 is all set to come to an end, Ashi Singh looks back at the year and recollects the highlights. She further talks about the goals she wants to achieve in 2024 and more.
Highlight of 2023 for you. What made you most happy this year?
Chandrayan landing and the ICC World Cup made me super excited. Personally, My road trip after my show 'Meet' was a highlight too. The one thing I achieved and it made me so happy in 2023 was an award that I got for my performance. I want to win more such honours so that was a highlight for sure.
A mistake you made in 2023 that you regret or feel that could have been handled in a better way
I'm not someone who regrets anything as such. I like to think and overthink before I act on it. I remember there was an article about me and Shagun (Pandey) being in the Cold War and giving cold vibes to each other. Originally, I did not receive the call from that journalist who posted that article and I also couldn't reply to him and all this confusion happened. If I would have picked up that call or replied to him, the whole confusion could have been avoided. I corrected my mistake later but I wish I could have handled it better.
The Movie, Serial or OTT project of 2023 that stood out for you and why?
I watched many movies and series in 2023. The one that stood out for me was 'Qala'. I was surprised to see it. It was different and very artistic. It is slow but it keeps you engaged in the story. I like to watch fast stuff but Qala keeps me engaged and it doesn't bore you. The performance was so good and it was well made. I was surprised that it wasn't hyped much but the movie stayed with me.
A goal you accomplished in 2023?
Among my many goals, one of them is to learn new things. I started working at a young age and that made me miss out on basic things. This year I wanted to learn how to drive, swim and keep fit. I have started working on it but still need time to perfect it.
I'm very proud of completing 'Meet'. It felt like completing a goal and I'm very happy to accomplish that
I really wish to go on a world tour but I wish to start from India. We went for an impromptu 10-day road trip. We had no clue about where we were heading and what we were supposed to do next. It was on my bucket list and I ticked that off the list this year. So these were my little joys in 2023.
An unfinished chapter of 2023
Like I said, I want to learn many things and I really like to learn new things. Some of it, I have learnt and a few more are left, which will be carried forward in 2024. I will be learning Kathak, Singing and taking a 2 months vacation to become a traveller. I'm really excited for these small goals. Adding to that, I wish to do a good workshop and read a good book. I missed out on that but will complete that in 2024.
How would you say bye to 2023
I will bid adieu 2023 with lots of gratitude this year. I have gained so much. My stress levels were in place. I will spend the last few days of the year with my friends and family and keep it compact. I like to keep it close knit.
