Contetant Arbaz Patel recently shared his journey to becoming a contestant on dating-based reality show Splitsvilla 15. He recounted his experience while exclusively talking to ETimes TV on how his social media presence played a crucial role in his selection. "I used to use social media like Instagram and TikTok when I was in India. Initially, I didn't want to use social media much; my goal was to work in the industry," Arbaz explained.
He began making videos that resonated with people, rapidly gaining followers. "I gained a lot of followers, and people started suggesting I try reality shows like Bigg Boss, Roadies, and Splitsvilla. It became clear that if I wanted to step into the industry, reality shows were a necessary step," he said.
By 2023, Arbaz had amassed 1.8 million followers on Instagram, thanks to his consistent effort. Despite his online success, he felt it was time to pursue his dream of working in the industry. "In 2024, I decided I had to do anything to get on a reality show. During a live session, my followers urged me to try out for a show. The promo for Splitsvilla had just come out, so I told them to comment on the promo if they wanted to see me on the show," he recalled.
His dedicated followers flooded the promo with comments, catching the show's attention. Arbaz was called for an audition, which included three stages: a Zoom call, a meeting, and a final audition. "After clearing all the auditions and sharing my journey, they gave me an entry to Splitsvilla," he said.
Arbaz's story highlights the power of social media and his followers' support in helping him achieve his dream. His determination and the encouragement from his fans led him to Splitsvilla, marking a significant milestone in his career.
