Exclusive - Angad Hasija on his latest entry in Suman Indori: This is the first time I’m working on a project where I know the whole crew, so I was really excited
Actor Angad Hasija is the latest entry in popular show Suman Indori, the handsome actor is playing the role of Vikram in the show. Sharing more information, Angad says,”Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye was my last project, and the experience of working on that show was amazing. I had to leave the show because I was left with the final schedule of my upcoming Punjabi film in Punjab. Unfortunately, I didn’t have an option and had to leave the show midway.”
When Angad was offered Vikram’s role in Suman Indori, he accepted it without a doubt. He says,”When the role was offered to me, I felt really happy because it’s a popular show with an amazing star cast. I already know most of the people there. Zain Imam is a good friend of mine, and the director is also a good friend because I’ve worked with him on a show for Dangal. The entire crew is very close to me. This is the first time I’m working on a project where I know the whole crew, so I was really excited. I’ve worked with Sai Ji before on Phulwa, and I know Anita Hassanandani very well too. Since I know everyone, it feels like I’m meeting my family back home. On set when you get to meet everyone you know is a nice positive feeling.”
Commenting more on his role Vikram, he says,”My character’s look is quite formal, and the role itself is quite amazing. It’s a positive character who comes into Suman’s life to support her, take care of her, and stand by her through thick and thin. The story will show how this man makes Suman believe in him and become her motivation, like a guiding light. It’s a very strong and impactful character.”
So joining in a show in the middle of the story, do you feel any pressure, especially given the show’s popularity and audience expectations? On this Angad says, "Yes, there’s definitely some pressure when joining a show midway, especially wondering whether the audience will accept you. But touchwood, I’m very confident. In my previous shows where I joined midway, the audience didn’t hesitate to appreciate my performance. So I’m hopeful they’ll appreciate me in Suman Indori as well. On set, everyone welcomed me with open arms since they already knew me, and it felt great reconnecting with everyone after a long time. The vibe was beautiful. Angad and Vikram have similarities in the sense that I, too, enjoy helping people, though Vikram takes it to another level. However, one major difference is the look—Vikram wears formals, while I don’t wear them at all in real life.”
Angad is working with Prateek Sharma for the first time. He says,”This is my first time working with Prateek Sharma and Studio LSD. I’ve been wanting to work with them for a long time because they have a great reputation. Many of my friends who’ve worked with them have only shared wonderful experiences. They’ve praised how professional and family-like the environment is, with no politics or mistreatment on set. Personally, I believe in working with people who create a supportive, family-like atmosphere. I’m sure my experience working with them will be amazing. Prateek himself is such a kind person. There’s a saying that if the head of the family is kind, then the rest of the members follow suit. I think that applies here.“
Angad has been working for the last 19 years in the industry, sharing on his long journey, he says, "As an actor, my journey has been great. I feel fortunate. Male actors often have limited opportunities on TV, but I’ve been lucky to receive rare and challenging roles. These characters often carry a lot of weight and have layers, which makes acting very fulfilling for me. I’ve been in the television industry for almost 19 years now, and I absolutely love it. With the rise of web series alongside TV shows, I’ll definitely continue doing television because it teaches you so much. You make great friends, work in a positive environment, and develop a strong connection with the medium. Even though some people think TV can be monotonous, I love the routine. You meet your friends, do what you love every day, and maintain a good flow and vibe. As an actor, my journey has been amazing. I’m looking forward to working with Zain—we gel really well at the gym—and with director Yusuf Sir in Suman Indori.”
