Exclusive - Abdu Rozik reveals trolling was one of the major reasons behind calling off his Wedding; says "it shattered our future together"
In a shocking revelation, Abdu Rozik opened up about the real reason behind calling off his engagement, putting to rest rumours that the announcement was a publicity stunt. Ever since he announced his engagement, a storm of scepticism followed, with many accusing him of staging the event for attention.
Social media was flooded with comments questioning the authenticity of the relationship, and even when Abdu addressed the situation during a live session on Instagram, people were quick to point out the absence of visible sadness on his face. “There is no such thing as a breakup," read one of the many hurtful comments.
Abdu, however, set the record straight, sharing the emotional toll that this constant trolling had on him and his ex-fiancée, Amira. Abdu stated, "The trolling was the biggest reason for calling off my wedding. Amira was deeply affected by the negativity that followed our engagement announcement. This constant barrage of hate began to take a toll on her mental well-being, and I couldn't bear to see her continue to be a target,"
Abdu revealed. He added that the pressure and public scrutiny became too much to handle, leading to the inevitable breakdown of their relationship.
"The trolling didn’t stop," Abdu said, "and it became clear that our relationship was suffering. I couldn't envision a future together under such strain." He added that both of their families were greatly affected by the online hate. "Our families became hesitant about our future because people don't understand that trolling can destroy relationships. It doesn't just hurt the individuals involved; it changes the way people think and view the world."
Abdu also expressed, "I had shared my engagement news before with my fans because I thought everyone was like family to me, and I love my fans dearly. But this trolling forced both our families to take a step back for the betterment of our future. It’s heartbreaking that something as pure as love can be shattered by the cruel words of strangers."
In the face of such difficult circumstances, Abdu concluded by saying, “People need to realize that words can hurt more than they think. This wasn’t just about me; it affected our families and our future. I hope people understand that trolling has real consequences, and it's not something that should be taken lightly."
