The beautiful and vivacious Poonam Dhillon who is currently winning hearts with her portrayal of a simple housewife Sharda in the TV show Ekk Nayi Pehchaan, says she was warned by many from the industry against doing TV. "I was one of the first few film people to ever do Television. I did a show called
Andaz many years ago which was produced by
Himesh Reshammiya. He was 19 at that time and everybody warned me against it.
People said you shouldn't do TV,” said the actress.

Bigg Bosson TV, says that she has always been a front-runner and has always done things ahead of time, “I've realized that I've pioneered many things and have been a front-runner in a lot of things. I did many things ahead of time. I did Television before any film personality did it. I in fact started doing theatre before a lot of film people started doing it and I started my website before anybody else. I did it some 18-20 years ago when nobody had even thought about it. Then I had also started a talent portal called
Star Ya Kalakaar,” shares Ponam.

Ekk Nayi Pehchaan, says working in daily soaps is taxing, “Television is something which I did many years ago but daily soap is all together a new ball game. It’s very taxing and strenuous because now I am working for almost 30 days in the month. I try to wrap up by 8 so I can spend some time with my family in the evening. And I think being away from home for 12 hours is enough,” concludes Poonam
