Elvish Yadav takes an indirect dig at Maxtern amid their slap controversy; says, “Woh maine nahi maara tha”
Elvish Yadav, who won Bigg Boss OTT 3 and is currently winning hearts with Laughter Chefs 3, is hosting the reality dating show Engaged Season 2 alongside Jiya Shankar. The show premiered on Saturday, February 14. It brings together heartbroken couples, where they need to connect, perform tasks, and more.
In the second episode, Elvish took an indirect dig at Maxtern amid their slap controversy. Maxtern is making headlines after repeatedly talking about Elvish Yadav in The 50. During the episode, former Splitsvilla contestant Nikhil Malik and Elvish jokingly said, “Violence is not the solution, khaas-kar thappad marna… Main in cheezon ke khilaaf hoon.”
The contestants laughed and indirectly referred to his controversy with Maxtern. He then added, “Woh maine nahi maara, woh AI tha.”
Maxtern once addressed his controversy with Elvish Yadav in The 50. He shared, “One day someone told me to check my account. I had been offline the entire time. When I checked, I found out that he had transferred Rs 1 lakh into my account. I had no idea about this amount at all. I don’t even know why Rs 1 lakh was sent to my account. Rs 1 lakh is nothing; money like that comes and goes.”
He further added, “As the conversation continued, he said we should work together and maintain brotherhood, this and that. At that time, my mental state was such that I was almost in a very lonely zone. You know how it is—when someone is alone and you offer them friendship, they tend to get a little emotional.”
Later, he said, “When I became a bit emotional, I felt that since I knew him from before, things were generally fine with others as well. I was judging him based on his old personality, even though he had spread a lie saying that I abused his mother. This is a completely false allegation. If I ever abuse anyone, it is only unknown people—and that too when I receive excessive abuse myself. Social media should be used responsibly.”
Prince Narula reacted to it and said, “I made mistakes too. Ten years ago and even later, during rivalries, I showed things on social media as well. I did that because I was reacting the same way others do. I wanted to show that there is a huge difference between reel and real life.”
Maxtern then continued the incident and said, “Then he spoke about a music video. The music video had already been shot. It was supposed to be released a few days earlier, but due to the controversy, the deal got delayed. The purpose of that music video was to reduce the pressure on his head, not to present me through the music video, to be honest.”
He added, “What happened next was that I did not sleep for three days, and I am still in that same zone. The next day, he sent me the location for the music video shoot, and my scene was added. When he mentioned the slapping scene, I started doubting why this scene was being added.”
“I spoke to my younger brother about what kind of scene this was. I tried to look at it from an artistic perspective; after all, fights are common in films. At that time, my ability to think clearly was completely exhausted. As soon as the music video was released, suddenly a lot of negative memes started appearing on meme pages. I have been on the internet for many years. When memes with the same narrative start appearing everywhere, you understand that something has been planned,” Maxtern added.
He concluded by saying, “For the first time, I realised that even if I explained everything to the public, they would not believe it. I felt there was no point in explaining anything. I was confused about what to do and what not to do. Then, somehow, I got a call from Lakshya asking me to return the Rs 1 lakh he had sent. I asked him why he had sent it in the first place. He did not give an answer. So I said forget it; I sent Rs 90,000 and Rs 10,000 back to him via UPI. To this day, I am confused about why that Rs 1 lakh was sent. Whether it was sent to trap me or for some other reason, I still do not know. Only Lakshya can answer that. I will ask him.”
