Producer Ektaa R Kapoor shared a heartfelt note on her social media as Hum Paanch completes three decades. Sharing the post, the queen of entertainment captioned it, "Things I did when I was 19! Comedy came before drama."
The show followed the life of Anand Mathur, played by Ashok Saraf, a middle-class man navigating the daily madness caused by his five eccentric daughters—Meenakshi, Radhika, Sweety, Kajal, and Chhoti. Adding to his troubles was his late wife, who humorously communicated with him through her portrait, making Hum Paanch a perfect blend of comedy and chaos.
The show featured a stellar cast, including Ashok Saraf as Anand Mathur, Shoma Anand as his second wife Bina, and Priya Tendulkar as the voice of his late wife. The daughters were portrayed by Vandana Pathak (Meenakshi), Rakhi Vijan (Sweety), Bhairavi Raichura (Kajal Bhai), Vidya Balan/Amita Nangia (Radhika), and Bobby Khanna/Ajay Nagrath (Chhoti).
