Donal Bisht shares how her father taught her through stories
Fathers have their own way of teaching life lessons, while most of them choose the strict approach there are many who go creative with their kids. Similar on this
"My father has raised me up with values through stories, and incidents. For instance, I grew up listening to the ‘Boy Who Cried Wolf’ story which teaches that crying time and again over nothing will drive people to not help you when one is actually in need of help. Another thing that he taught me is that the more fruits a tree bears, the more it has to bend down otherwise it breaks down. This is a beautiful story to teach one to stay grounded no matter how successful they get in life. These are the stories that make me the person I am. Even though I didn’t understand the meaning of these stories back then, I really value them now. I see that he’s prepared me for the future.
When I started off, my father was a little skeptical of how it will all turn out for me. He thought I’d easily get swayed by anyone, being new to the city of Mumbai. But after he saw my work, and in lead roles, he now has a lot of confidence in me. I think that I’ve taught him to be secure, and have confidence in one’s own abilities. And also that one can achieve anything if they have the will to do so. It’s a beautiful relation that I and my father share, and it’s great how we can learn so much from each other. " shares Donal.
