Dipika Kakar, who recently underwent a surgery for stage 2 liver cancer is on a road to recovery. The actress is currently on a break from work and is focusing on her work. Dipika, who keeps updating her fans about life, recently shared a selfie and spoke about her health.
In the picture, Dipika is seen resting her head on her hand while looking into the camera. Alongside the photo, she wrote, "Days when the treatment hits hard, and even the simplest things feel heavy."
The Sasural Simar Ka actress is presently undergoing Targeted Therapy and, in a recent vlog, she shared that she has developed mouth ulcers. She also mentioned experiencing severe hair fall. During her consultation, doctors explained that such side effects can occur in some patients during the course of treatment.
Dipika's family surprised her on her 40th birthday with heartfelt gestures. While her father-in-law pampered her with multiple gifts, her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, presented her with stunning gold and diamond jewellery. The actress celebrated her birthday at home with close friends and family. She later went for dinner with her family and her show Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum's producer Sandiip Sikcand joined them for the celebrations.
Dipika was last seen in Celebrity Masterchef, but had to leave the show midway after suffering a shoulder injury. Soon after, she experienced severe stomach pain and was diagnosed with liver cancer in May this year. Following multiple tests and hospital visits, she underwent a 14-hour-long surgery in June. Post-surgery, her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, shared that no cancer cells were found. However, since the tumour was identified as "grade three and poorly differentiated," it was considered highly aggressive, with the possibility of recurrence.
On the work front, Dipika has been part of Sasural Simar Ka, Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Bigg Boss 12 and Celebrity Masterchef.
