Did you know actress Gopi Desai had a connection with ISRO?

Actress Gopi Desai is that one name that has been in the industry for quite some time. She will soon be seen on the show Ghar Ek Mandir-

Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki

. But not many know that she was a part of the infotainment program of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

Talking about it, she says, "Before joining NSD, the Indian space research organisation (ISRO) was making edutainment programs for the rural transmission. These were rural-based programs, focused on Pij village and surrounding areas. I started acting there, then joined NSD Delhi. After NSD started working with ISRO in their program as a production assistant. When the programs were recorded on VTR and half inch tapes. So my association with TV is long since mid-70s till date and till today's age.”

Gopi is not just an actress, she is into direction too and has been a part of various projects like Manzar,

“I am often asked what I like more, being on screen or off screen? I always answer that I like being behind the camera more than facing the camera. This is because when I am behind the camera, I get to execute what I think and what I want to see on screen. It doesn’t mean that acting is not important but actors have to follow the director’s orders and when I am the director, I get to exercise my creative skills fully as an artist,” says Gopi.

It's been more than two decades that she has been a part of the entertainment industry, so how did she survive all these years?

“I think if I had stuck to acting only then it wouldn’t have been possible to reach here. I have so many other things too which I do. I research and read a lot. I don’t work only for the money, but to leave an impact on people as well. The industry is constantly changing and to survive in an environment like this, we need to evolve constantly,” shares Gopi.
