Culture is beautifully preserved in Lucknow: Sushmita Mukherjee Bundela

and television actress Sushmita Mukherjee Bundela, was in Lucknow recently. Sushmita told us she has lived in Lucknow for more than a month and she enjoyed every bit of it. "My first connection to the city is with Atul Tewari. He was my classmate and he introduced me to the city. And then we visited Chowk, Bada Imambara, Chhota Imambara and a lot of theatres. I remember we also had thandai that I liked very much. I actually shot my first movie here in 1984, called 'Ye Woh Manzil To Nahin', so we lived for about one and a half month in Lucknow and we enjoyed a lot. So I guess that is a big connection that I hold from the city," shared Sushmita.

Left in awe of the city’s culture, the 'Karamchand' actress said, "The most wonderful thing about the city is its development without losing its cultures. Lucknow has a deep root when it comes to culture and it can’t be easily uprooted. Be it any government, if they are preserving the culture, the city will always grow. And culture is beautifully preserved in this city."

Sharing her passion in life, Sushmita said her dream was to become a writer, "I did my masters in literature from Delhi, so my parents thought that I would opt for academics, which I did not. Main dusron ke dialogues bol ke pet bharti hoon apna (laughs). So, I had this passion of becoming a writer, and I have done a lot of ghost writing too. But I was always afraid to share the fact that I am a writer too because I thought that would cost me my acting career. Nowadays young generation is into multitasking, they can be director, music director, rapper, songwriter and what not, but in our time, it wasn’t like this back in our time," said she.
