In the times of Corona, while this period of lockdown is an opportunity for many to do something creative, getting close and bonding well with your loved ones, at the same time, it’s an opportunity for some to utilize this period in a meaningful way. For actor
Himanshu Malhotra
, this period of lockdown is an opportunity for him to address the issues of mental health, depression, anxiety, panic attacks that are prevalent and high during these tough times and the actor is trying to bring out differences in people’s lives in a meaningful way.
Himanshu says, “During this period of lockdown, I have started giving ‘
sad learning sessions
’ where I’m addressing the issues of mental health, depression, anxiety, panic attacks that are on a high during this period of lockdown, which I realized and came across people actually suffering from it. This is a way to bring differences and positivity to people's lives via zoom call, and skype, and which is also a great opportunity for me to explore deeper into myself in order to teach/ guide others in this period of lockdown.”
Speaking about the sessions and the kind of response he’s getting, Himanshu says, “I’m conducting 90-120 min sessions and guiding such people about life, understanding their personal issues and explaining the ways to tackle them and telling them in-depth about forgiveness, true love, laziness, fears, angers on every day basis to heal people on topics like--how to overcome our fears, how to control anger, how to better our relationships, how to stop being lazy etc. However, the response that I’m getting through these sessions is incredible and people from 13 years old to 50 years are becoming a part of this session every day from various countries as well, including London, Melbourne etc and which shows how these problems are becoming increasingly common and is quite relatable to everyone. The best part is that one doesn’t need to travel anywhere for attending these sessions and one can avail it in the comfort of their homes, at their own space. At the end of sessions, participants add on their points of learning, feedback, experience and how they are going to implement this learning in their lives.”
